As a girl, I can tell you that yes that's probably exactly what the girl in front of you is thinking. Best thing to do would be to cross the street, get on your phone, or stop at a store for a few minutes before continuing. Otherwise yes she will be freaking out I'm sure

Because i'm a guy I should go out of my way to appease them? The answer to that question is No, i won't go outta my way because a girl is paranoid about getting assaulted. The main thing about the issue is also someone commented that even tho its a minority "girls are taught to be victims" which mentality is flawed cause with millions of citizens (stealing data) 0.17% of women are raped in the USA.

My response was I live in the US and the Constitution gives me the right to walk wherever I want. I'm not going to change my travel plans or act a certain way because somebody else has an irrational fear that all persons of a certain group are rapists and criminals. I do not feel a need to defend myself in this regard. I have just as much right to walk on a sidewalk at anytime as the next person. people with this irrational fear really need to get over it. It's not my problem they fear everything.
