I like it, as it will also benefit step parents who treat the child like their own yet feel distance by the fact they are not refereed to as the child's parent.

Now France needs to eliminate all gender references (aside from pronouns of course) from the French language altogether. I can never remember if it's un pomme or une pomme. FML

This is not a men's right issue. There was an issue about this kinda language thing a couple month ago.

They got rid of all the miss. in French we had Mademoiselle for not married women (One of my favorite words in french, I think its very pretty, doesn't exist anymore...), and Madame for married women.

They passed a law to ban Mademoiselle. Feminists cheered a bit, and it got banned. Fuck them...

Does this mean French birth certificates will refer to a birth to person A and Person B? I'm all for ending discrimination. But, this seems like another one of those overreaching "political correctness" initiatives. There is no discrimination in recognizing that there are two distinct sexes. Pretty soon people will be offended by being referred to as Miss b/c it's different than Mr.
