Same thing happened to me with my first son. I loved her. She claimed to love me. We were together for years and it was a mutual decision to have a baby. She dumped me for someone else and I'm playing child support.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnd she may just receive it. Especially if he knew about the child and did nothing to attempt to raise it himself. I'm thinking if he wanted to be a family, or raise his(?) child, he probably should've gotten a paternity test, some sort of court ordered visitation, and child support should've been established at that time, so as to not lose out on all this time with a child he wanted. OR, if at all possible (if the money machine was interested) signed rights away immediately.

I'm pretty sure this is how it works, most places.

Did any of these things happen? Is there any documentation or evidence to prove that he was attempting to raise this kiddo? I'm thinking the only thing this might help is for visitation purposes.

That's a shitty situation, but so long as the ex-bf didn't sign the birth certificate - he's okay.

Even if you're not biologically the dad, if you sign the birth certificate, you can be held to be the kids dad. Her infidelity goes unpunished and the system even goes so far as to reward her for it.

So long as men are being held to be dad's when the kid is not biologically there's, no man should sign a birth certificate without getting the kid genetically tested.

Communicate by email. Use a diary. Do it subtly if you have to:

2 months later, you can pull up the email you sent to her and prove her wrong.
