Well the real way feminists fuck with the facts on this topic is to compare FGM in some barbaric place in Africa with MGM in the USA. If you simply demand that the comparison stay like with like this can't happen.

Within the USA: MGM is worse because FGM doesn't happen at all.

In Africa: FGM is bad but have you seen what they do to the boys?

On a slight related note there have been many studies about MGM but there haven't been any on FGM the only thing I can find is most say that is has no effect and is only bad but they never have any research or studies and the only one that say they do reduce diseases are generally religiously biased

I think this submission is a nod at the societal acceptance of male genital mutilation and the injustice for it to be this way. The author is comparing the similarities in mindsets of those who justify either FGM or MGM. Also this is hosted on The Female Genital Cutting Education and Networking Project site. That sounds like a very one-sided gender leaning site, however here is a female author acknowledging, albeit in a rather odd way that is off-putting at first glance, there is a problem with the acceptance of MGM. This is the author. She sounds like a very dedicated feminist. Anyone that works as a humanitarian in Africa is OK in my book. I think this is a step forward for this issue. /End opining

Both practices are terrible! Keep your genitals clean, no smegma or anything else gross like that, and there's no need to use that as an excuse for circumcision. FYI, I only just figured out what smegma is, courtesy of some male friends who were a little too eager to tell me.

Excuse my ignorance, but are these opinions about MGM really the main opinion in North America? Like for real? I'm living in Germany and circumcision here is forbidden until the boy can give legally accountable approval of it. Also the idea that circumcision had any health related benefits is something I have never heard about here. The Central Council of Jews protested against circumcision being forbidden, but so far no legal department seems to even consider giving in to these protests.

If you want to prove that MGM is just as bad, try serving up actual facts showing the potential dangers of the two in comparison, rather than just what people think about them.
