The problem with false rape accusations is that rape accusations bypass the standard code of presumed innocence and standard evidence requirements. False accusers should never be able to succeed in the first place.

I understand your desire to reduce false conviction, but you're mixing different issues here.

Police mistreating rape suspects, the media circus and social ostracism, varying assumptions of guilt: all of those things are severe, gender-biased injustices stacked against men accused of rape.

You veer into a totally different issue, however, when you start talking about evidence requirements and demand that criminal justice strive for "zero innocent prisoners". You started out discussing rape, and now you've asked for a ground-up overhaul on rules of evidence, prosecutorial conduct, etc. for all of criminal law.

Rape accusations are arguably the worst-case scenario for a man in the criminal justice system. Why don't we focus on one issue at a time and start there? Getting rape cases handled correctly within the existing guidelines will be hard enough. Once all crimes and all categories of accused are handled the same, then we'll be better positioned (and better informed) to address the overall treatment of people.

I agree with you, but one of the biggest problems with false accusations is the damage to reputation...and this isn't a problem with the justice system so much as it's a problem with the way the media handles rape allegations. The obvious solution is to have the state mandate anonymity for those accused of a crime. However, this poses some serious problems: namely that it empowers the state to secretly detain people (i.e. something I really don't want since states tend to abuse that power). So, instead, we have to focus on pressuring the media to NOT release the identities of those accused of rape.

I'm not sure if this could be accommodated via lawsuit, but I seriously doubt it would be successful. We could perhaps start a group which catalogues incidents of the media listing the name of someone only accused, and complaining to them (which is basically what Pierce Harlan does)...but I don't really think it would be very effective at getting them to change. It's because of this lack of an obvious solution that I think many focus on non-obvious solutions...like harsher penalties for false accusers.

It is actually pretty funny. Feminists claimed for decades being a victim of rape was stigmatizing. This is nonsense in my opinion. However nowadays if I heard a women claimed to have been raped I would stay the fuck away from her. In my opinion there is about a 50% chance she is a dangerous liar. When you fight injustice with injustice you always just make things worse.

Currently accusing a man of raping you has basically zero cost (except morally). If a women can gain from the accusation she has a strong incentive to try. If we want less FRA's we need to make it irrational to try.

The natural conclusion to a society that's extremely lax with the standard of evidence required for conviction of rape is one where every citizen makes sure they're under surveillance at all times. Even when they're having sex. Want to have sex? Well we're going to have to head down to the police station and have the officer take consent, make sure you're not drunk and watch the ordeal to make sure there's never breach of consent.

Part of me wants that to happen so feminists will get to experience what exactly they're pushing for. I contemplate with glee the idea of horny feminists who have the choice of coming down to the station or taking care of themselves knowing it's a result of their ideology that a spectator is required.

I agree with this.

I am strongly, and militantly against rape, and all forms of sexual assault. but the way to combat it isn't to imprison any suspect merely accused of it.

Aside from false rape accusations, and maybe child custody... what other reasons are there to be a "Men's right activist"? Seriously bro.

Being a male in society is becoming one of the worst "decisions" you could make. Look at the fall of Rome and ancient Babylon: what did they both have in common? They started allowing women to have more and more rights. They gave women the option to raise their children, or have a milkmaid raise them. When the women started getting really bad, the men resorted to just having sex with prostitutes. The father was no longer part of the family, so young boys grew up with feminine values. Those same boys grew up to be leaders in the country, and without a father to guide them in the ways of honor, integrity, and moral values, they ran the country/empires into the dirt.

I'm not saying correlation is causation, I'm only saying that this is SHOCKINGLY close to what America is experiencing now.
