The problem is that when feminists speak against sex work they start from the presumption that its all bad sex work. There is a difference between wanting to stop exploitation and wanting to stop sex work period.

What, so you think feminists should blame the sex workers?

If you actually read the article about the sex worker upping her rates, you'll realise that she is a sex worker because she had no other option. She was impoverished, she had no future, she needed money. This is the case with the vast majority of Ukrainian and probably American sex workers. These sex workers are only doing what is necessary for survival, they are clearly not to blame here.

Meanwhile, feminists are going against Euro 2012 because they think it will encourage sex tourism, and you know what? It probably will. Ukraine is well known as a destination for sex tourism and bringing a million rowdy football fans to the area is hardly going to discourage sex work.

Edit: Changed "prostitute" to "sex worker", I believe it is the more politically correct phrase.
