In the same way that a person cannot be prosecuted for hitting themselves, but someone else can be prosecuted for hitting them.

In general, it makes perfect sense. If a pregnant woman doesn't want to carry a child, it's her choice to abort it, she shouldn't be forced to carry it and give birth, it's her body. But it most certainly shouldn't be legal to terminate somebody else's pregnancy without their permission; they want to have a child, and you've destroyed their emotional attachment to their prospective kid, forced them to go through the ideal of beginning their pregnancy again, and potentially cause health hazards or even stopping them ever having kids.

In this case I don't think he should be charged because he was doing it on her request; like euthanasia except it was a fetus that died and not a person. I still think that he should be punished - forcing a miscarriage is not good for the mother's health (though keeping in mind his age and her consent), and should most certainly not be legal - but what he's being charged with, definitely not.

According to that law, only the person making the intentional conduct against the pregnant individual is criminally liable. The pregnant individual herself, however complicit in the termination, is not."

Simply beyond belief, the legal system is falling apart. This should be appealed to the higher courts as sexual discrimination, it is a matter of law of interest to the general public.

I hope the pro-choice people support this boy.
