This might not be the right place to post, let me know if it isn't. I was hoping for some advice. I'm a friendly young guy (21) who has worked with kids his whole life. I've been working at the YMCA teaching kids to swim for the past 7 years, and have worked at camps etc.

However, if I'm not in those settings and I'm very nervous to interact with any child as the parents always seem so protective. Is there anyway to avoid this other than just ignoring the child?
