To be fair, the first sentence specifies the list is about the Middle East and North Africa. I think few MRAs would dispute that women do not have equal rights in those places.

The human rights of women throughout the Middle East and North Africa are systematically denied by each of the countries in the region, despite the diversity of their political systems.

I think that article is fair. It's true that the extent to which women are disadvantaged in those countries is extreme and unfair. So, in those areas, in my opinion at least, it is okay to focus on women only, since men (in those areas) do get education rights and all those other things that women don't.

In the civilized world, we can focus on more alignment between less extreme inequalities.

But no complaints when men have to do the exact same thing (and more) to "buy their freedom" in the US.

I'd like to hear from the women in these countries what they think of it all. That seems to be missing from an awful lot of these pieces.
