Yeah, his crime of being unable to get a drivers license. Oh the horror. He was legally married to a U.S. Citizen, but the fucked up immigration system would have required that he go back to Mexico to apply for his green card, leaving his children without a father, and damaging his ability to make an income to support them.

And yes, life in Mexico would be vastly different, but you don't see the state stepping in if a family wants to move there. The state doesn't have the right to interfere, and they're trampling over his rights to raise his children. They're not foster kids, they're HIS kids.

We don't ship American kids to Mexico to live in a house without running water. Nope, no way. These kids deserve to be adopted in North Carolina and have a first-world upbringing and education, and their father, who can't be here to take care of them because he committed a crime and was eventually apprehended, is totally welcome to apply for legal entrance to the US, and visitation if he's ever granted entrance. But we don't send foster kids to fucking Mexico.
