This piece of feminist pop science prop of course leaves out the female sexual selection half of the picture. DNA analysis has proven that we're descended from twice as many women as men. Think on that.

Couldn't it then be said it also relates to female's need to be protected (back in the times this is addressing) along with the fact that the female tries to get the best male as a mate? Addressing male sex drive as the root of conflic but not addressing why their sex drive is the way it is seems a bit wrong. Wouldn't the entire reason they were "fighting" because the women would essentially then leave that man if he didn't, to find a better mate?

Someone was analyzing this in r/news:

Looking through the article, I think their scientific experiments are sound, but that their conclusions are overreaching. A couple of notes.

No real control groups, nor do they test cross-culturally or outside of the college age group
I think the experiments (specifically the war games) could have been set up better. Some seem to have confirmation bias built in. For instance they based evidence on what genre of movies people like, a notoriously divided stereotype.
Much of their introductory evidence is based on somewhat shaky literature.

Not bad, but really all they did is reinforce cultural norms and prove that Harvard-attending college-age men are more aggressive than Harvard-attending college-age women. I can't see where sex-drive even comes into play.
