Seen time ago, while doing my own research. Certainly this is a BIG issue. A lot -if not all- policies on DV are somehow based on this, even here in Europe.

It's just amazing that the women's behavior on drugs and alcohol is completely ignored. I've been in many scenarios where you are drinking, etc. heavily with a significant other and somewhere during the evening she turns the corner and becomes inflammatory, contentious, and even violent. Now I'm not the one that wants to fight, she is. It's very difficult to extract yourself from this situation, especially if she is laying hands on you. To try and paint this with the brush of the oppressive patriarchy is just ridiculous. It's amazing that men are just expected to endure all the abuse from violently angry women without being able to react in anyway to stabilize the situation. I'm with Sean Connery on this one, sometimes there is no other way out of a situation than a good slap.

I was recruited to work for a company in Duluth and I turned it down partially because the college there originated this travesty. I heard there are also roving gangs of white knights that patrol the streets to "defend women."
