Question about rape law.

One part is all about sexual assault. At one point, it says that a woman can originally consent to sex, and then change their mind halfway through but may be too scared to say No.

Please post the publication data for that pamphlet.

I'm founder of False Rape Society.

First, from a legal standpoint, someone's subjective beliefs are not pertinent to the issue of consent. The only thing that matters is whether the other party outwardly manifested assent. Would a reasonable person in the guy's position understand that the woman consented? If so, it's not rape.

Second, anyone can lie and claim they did not manifest consent. Why would someone do that? For the same reason that people lie about any number of things. Regret is believed to be one of the common reasons for false rape claims. Studies show that women experience much greater regret than men following one-night stands. Feelings of regret are sometimes transformed into feelings of being used, and feelings of being used are sometimes transformed into rape.

Rape is by it's nature very subjective. Very few cases actually involve forcible rape. I think what you should keep in kind, especially considering the class your teaching, is that alcohol will lower inhibitions. This includes sexual inhibitions. That can mean that people are consenting to actions they would not normally perform otherwise.

That said, regret rape: claiming to have been raped after heavy alcohol consumption is not uncommon. There's a certain amount of social shame that goes along with one night stands, especially when drunk. Keep in mind that you should not target anything at one gender or another. Both can be raped, more than that both genders can be the perpetrator.

Yes, but only men would be the victims of this sort of false accusation. I'm sure you can find plenty of examples over at http://falserapesociety.blogspot.com

So, can some victim (male or female) say that they changed their mind without informing their partner and convict someone for rape?

There was a case in California where the girl told the boy in the middle of coitus "I need to go home" which became her saying "no" and he didn't stop immediately. He was convicted of rape.
