Thread is about feminists trying to create a new form of consent, enthusiastic consent, since a woman consenting is not "real" consent. I wish I was making this up.

The girl in the article is seriously sexually repressed, to the point it's impacting her social life. Good thing they have doctors for that. As for this enthusiastic consent nonsense, it's just a silly excuse for giving into something she wasn't keen on doing. Sorry but it's time to put on the big girl pants and admit responsibility.

After weeks of his pressure, I gave in.

That's her own damn fault. If she's not comfortable with where things are going, then it's entirely up to her to do something about it. IF he forced himself on her then we're talking about something else entirely. The trope of 'I wasn't into it but did it anyway' isn't actually a bad thing. In fact it's a sacrifice people make all the time in a myriad of aspects of day to day life to make their SOs and children happy. It's not the least bit different from dragging my ass out of bed every morning and bringing home the bacon so my family doesn't go without. Another example is having sex with your SO even if you're not really feeling like it. Not doing because of whatever reason you have is just being selfish, you should do it because you want to make your SO happy. That's how relationships between couples with mismatched libidos thrive in the long run.

You know what real "coerced consent" really is? Give me sex or xyz bad thing happens. The guy pressuring for sex with begging and her giving in isn't coercion, it's just giving into his begging. COMPLETELY different things. Conflating them as being the same is juvenile and shirks responsibility.
