If this were not a guy I was in a relationship with, and therefore I'm not trying to build some deep level of trust and honesty and openness, then no, I wouldn't tell him. I think it's selfish to put someone through that pain when they have absolutely no say in the decision. If you think he should have a say in the choice, make that argument, but since he doesn't, I would not put someone through that pain if I didn't have to.

Ask any X : "Should X tell men about Y?"... and the answer will be "no"

There is a simple explanation: Controlling information is power. X will not want to give up that power, so they will claim X has no obligation to reveal Y to men. They of course can reveal X, but any claim that they should is a loss of that power (a responsibility they'd have to follow) - so they will fight rabidly to defend not having to.

So bear that in mind whenever the question is asked - X will always defend not having to.

Abortion? No. Why bother if nothing good can come from it. You are going to abort it anyway. You can't make a woman bare a baby just because you want a child. Telling someone who wants to be a father that you are going to take away that chance could lead to some very weird harassment. (I once read a story about a guy who informed this girls mother that she had strayed from jesus' path by having an abortion and taking away his chance to become a father.)

Fatherhood? TELL HIM!

This has all different kinds of implications. Maybe you don't want the relationship to continue but you want the child and you want to be there in its life. Maybe you don't want the child and getting a simple heads up for having to pay money for 18 years would be nice.

My vote is yes. It isn't just the woman's child, it is part of the man as well.

That doesn't mean that the men are obligated to fatherhood, but at least they know. Some men would want to know and others may not care but at least the woman wasn't stupid enough to keep it to herself and then bitch to her friends about how the man isn't in her life helping her.

Only men are forced, in this day and age, to take care and support children concived through rape. The dirty little secret in this feminist society, listen up george, is that women commit more abuse than men do and feminists actively hide this abuse by controlling the discussion around rape and DV. But as far as DNA goes, I and all men SHOULD have the right to control what happens with our DNA. Whether it is used in samples in a medical setting or whether it is used in a lab as research or whether it is stored in a government database or whether it is used by a rapist female looking to create a baby to get state benefits called child support that are then collected from whoever she names on the birth certificate.

Did you know about that george? The state pays out CS and then goes to the alleged sperm donor or man and collects from him. This is why you can't default on them and why they will put you into a state sponsored prison industrial complex to be used as slave labor. The state literally makes money on CS, they pay out and then charge for the service of paying it out and then collect on it and then charge for the service of collecting on it.

There are many reason a man might not want his DNA passed onto a potential child. Maybe he has a genetic disorder. Should a man be forced to disclose a genetic disorder to a one night stand or potential relationship partner? I doubt feminists disclose their medical histories to their fuck buddies....infact, this thread is full of women claiming they dont have any moral obligation to do so.

I wouldn’t look for any answers from feminists, come to the MRA side. We are actually about equality in life, not on paper.

What you will see from these feminists is the typical pick and choose hypocrisy of feminism. Read about feminist jurisprudence, google it. You will see that they use several arguments time and again that are mutually exclusive. For example, they will claim men and women should have the same legal rights, we call this the legal argument, as men and they will justify this by saying that men and women are equal in potential. Then when it comes to responsibilities, all rights have responsibilities, they will turn around and become victims feminists by claiming that there is a biological distinction that needs to be taken into consideration and this leads to special privileges for women. A good example would be the military or police forces where women have access to the good parts but don’t face the same risks and have lowered acceptance requirements.

I do think that you are on the right path george. Women shouldn’t be able to force men into servitude, which is what Child Support (CS) is. Consenting to 15 minutes of sex is not the same as consenting to 18+ years of financial support.

This is what the courts have ruled, but it doesn’t mean the courts are morally correct. My sperm determines my genetics and my genes are the essence of who and what I am.

George, look at what dan and others have written. They think it is impossible for men to not consent to sex or be raped by a woman. Go and look up the cases of boys who were raped by teachers and older women who now have to pay child support to their rapists. It is sick enough that the stud farms we call public schools and daycares allow women to systematically rape boys and get away with a slap on the wrist, if that, but there are many boys and men who have been raped and now pay CS to their rapists.

Then if they fall behind on CS payments they have their drivers licenses taken away and are placed in prison where they may be raped again by female guards and male guards and inmates while they are paid .10-.70$, in all cases I have read about less than a dollar, per hour to do manual labor in which that money will then go to pay off the interest on their CS debt. Then they will be released oweing debt on CS payments and in many cases arrested in the same day.

It is a elective procedure that allows the patient to be released the same day. Men don’t get women pregnant. Women choose to become pregnant and that is after she decides that it is a fetus and not a parasite. If you look at the biology it is actually fascinating. The egg actually signals to the various sperm and allows the specific, usually one, sperm to enter and once that happens the egg actually sucks the sperm inside because by that time the sperm has used up most of its energy getting to the egg first. Do some research on sperm competition….oh wait, I forgot.

A abortion doesn’t tie a womans tubes or remove her uterus, now does it? A woman who has a abortion doesn’t become infertile because of it but a man who has a vasectomy loses the ability to have children. Many think that the procedure can be reversed and sometimes this is true but it is by no means a universal aspect of the procedure. There are many factors involved, including but not limited to how long ago the procedure was done and what type of procedure it was.

The concept doesn’t become unworkable because a abortion does nothing more than force the body to expel the parasitic tissue called a zygote or fetus. This piece of tissue is made up of 23 chromosomes from the male and 23 from the female. You and judges can claim it is a gift but that isn’t something that most people want to find in their stockings. And again.

Valerie: This is something I’ve always wondered about–would it be possible (in a legal context) for a man and a woman to come to an agreement about this such that the woman is not on the hook for child support? I realize it might set a dangerous precedent since a man doesn’t (shouldn’t) really get a say in whether or not a woman keeps a child and ends up being responsible for it financially, if not emotionally. But let’s say I get pregnant, plan to abort, and then the guy and I come to an agreement early on in the pregnancy that I will carry the child to term and then sever all ties (including financial obligations) once the child is born. Stigma and public shaming aside, is there any legal system in the world that would allow for this kind of agreement?

(I’m asking as a genuine question based on sheer curiosity, and am in no way intending to be facetious or rhetorical.)

I work for a program that’s tangentially related to child support and in Texas, at least, a man and a woman can set their child support to $0, meaning that a case has been opened, and neither party will be held accountable for any kind of back pay. The two parties have agreed to not pay each other anything.

And even if a father does not establish paternity for a child, when a child support case is opened, that alleged father will be notified and summoned for a DNA test. If he does not respond or appear in court, the court counts it as an admission of guilt and names him as the legal father. Then he will be held accountable for child support payments.

First, how is it that parents pay each other??? As far as I know CS is uni-directional, meaning one persons pays and the other recieves. I have never heard of a woman having 70% or even 50% custody and paying the non-custodial or 50% custodial parent a dime.

Second, isn't that nice that a woman can allege you to be a father and if you don't recieve notice for a DNA test they take it as admission of guilt or paternity in this case.
