Yeah, I'm mostly extrapolating from the trends I've been seeing over the past 10 years.

First no one thought women could rape kids in any significant numbers. Data trickled in that a significant minority of women rape kids (10-20%). Now people think that women can rape kids but that they are a significant minority of abusers. And we're getting progressively larger and larger numbers of female abusers.

Looking at the general trend we're likely to hit parity eventually and it may be that sexual crimes against children, like all crimes against children, are majority female perpetrated.

Oh, and this:

94% of sexually abused youth in correctional facilities reported being abused by female staff. From Sexual Victimization in Juvenile Facilities, 2008-09

It's not a representative sample of the entire population, but, really, if women are abusing kids in this setting what stops them from abusing kids in any other?

It's a hunch. There is not a lot of reasoning behind it.

However I've noticed my hunches are eerily accurate.

The only reasoning I can point to is the fact that I conjecture that the proportion of opposite sex to same sex victimizers is roughly 80 to 20 for both male and female victims.

In other words a female victim will be victimized by another female 20% of the time; a male victim will be victimized by another male 20% of the time.

Assuming women now feel completely comfortable disclosing their abuse when it's a male aggressor, but not yet comfortable disclosing their abuse when it's a female aggressor gives 28% of women who are abused. 80% by a man; 20% by a woman.

For men, I'm assuming that they now feel comfortable disclosing sexual abuse by a male, but not by a female. 9.6% of males were abused by other males. If that's assumed to be 20% of all abuse, then we get 50% of males sexually abused.

Crazy numbers. But we'll see if I'm right. Will likely take a few decades, if not a century, for the right kind of social mentality to come about, ie. one in which the sexual exploitation of men by women is considered equal in immorality to the sexual exploitation of women by men.

As I said above, it's not a representative sample of the entire population.

Another interesting thing is the overlap it has with the original study.

Twenty-five percent of females reported being molested, as did 16 percent of males. Among female victims, males were responsible for the abuse 94 percent of the time. Among male victims, females made up 38 percent of perpetrators, according to the study.

94% of the victimized females said they were victimized by men.

94% of the victimized males(in the juvenile detention study) were victimized by women.

I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything but... it's quite the co-incidence.

These are just thought experiments. Perhaps something changed in the culture that's getting more young men to admit to abuse by females.
