Just another false rape claim

This is a dominantly male subreddit thus the men sympathize more with the males in these articles. If you bring in a story about a woman getting raped you're labeled and scrutinized because they don't care about women. The only stories they tend to care about are false rape claims, male rape, and child support/custody issues.

False-rape claims are a very real problem. In my opinion, this case is distinguishable from a false-rape claim. The prototype false-rape claim is one where the alleged victim actually identifies the perpetrator, and the perpetrator is locked up for years on the word of the alleged victim alone.

This does not take into account a sociopath who makes victims brush their teeth and shower after raping them.

No evidence means no suspects, court conviction, etc. Unfortunately, when a true-rape claim is filed, and no evidence can be gathered, the case is closed until new evidence is discovered or some other break in the case. This ending, though not ideal, is far better than an innocent person being locked up.

In sum, yes, some false-rapes will be true-rapes. This does not justify those rape claims which are patently false.

This is just such a perfect display of misogyny in society. Had she been a man, she would have been accused of raping someone instead, and got several years of free housing and food! It's all because men are evil oppressors!

I don't believe that anyone should be punished in any way for filing a police report unless it can be proven without doubt (ie, higher burden of proof than in rape cases) that the report is false.

Now that you somehow try to make fun of the Men's Right movement by comparing it to a false rape claim, I think it'd do you good to realise that the usual victim of a false rape claim ends up serving years in prison - and gets no compensation when/if finally freed. $500 might be a slap in the face to a real victim, but wake up, put things into perspective a bit.

And how do you think things got to the situation where a real rape victim was disbelieved by the police, and ended up getting fined for something she didn't do? Because so many women HAVE filed false rape claims. False rape claims don't just hurt the accused. They hurt all women as well, because they make it orders of magnitude more difficult do distinguish what really happened in an apparent sex crime situation. Do you honestly think any man, MRA or otherwise, wants to see a rapist go free? If there were zero women out there who filed false rape reports, than the only people who would ever go to jail are the ones who deserve it, and the police would have believed that rape victim instead of fining her $500. So if you are as really interested in women's rights and the rights of rape victims as you make out to be, you should be just as happy that false rape accusers are going to jail. We all benefit when that happens.
