If she dresses sexily - she's demeaning herself by buying into traditional notions of femininity and surrendering herself to the patriarchy.

If she dresses normal or balanced - she's being crushed by the opposing pressures and kept in an anxious middle ground by the patriarchy.

If she dresses conservatively - she's abandoning her goddess power to men and helping advance the soulless patriarchy.

No matter what she does, she's helpless to fight the telepathic omnipresent godlike powers of the patriarchy... unless... unless she becomes a hipster and starts to wear pink ironically.

I see no connection between rape statistics and slutty attire--considering incarcerated men have the highest likelihood of being raped. Somehow I don't think Ray-Ray was looking particularly slutty in his bright orange prison jumper.

We’re known for publishing controversial and contrary opinions. I’m obsessed with that. I like it, love it, want more of it. But this piece crossed the line in its victim-blaming and blatant misogyny. What’s even worse is that it was written by a woman which makes the whole thing even more disturbing and sad. The suggestion that victims of sexual assault are partially to blame for wearing revealing clothing is ludicrous, indicative of serious self-loathing and makes me want to vomit all over my computer screen.

So no, you don't like contrary opinions, because you can't stand them. No, it is not counter-mainstream to publish feminist articles and put them next to talks about threesomes.

It's a reasonable point, and we make the same point all the time: men should not be treated as nothing but rape-thirsty monsters and animals ready to commit rape any time they see a pair of breasts. As such, men can be responsible for resisting their urges (even when they see sultry women in slinky dresses). And, as such, women are not responsible for trying to limit how many men will go crazy with lust.

If rape is a matter of men being animals, women should be more demure. If rape is a matter of a few sick men (and I believe it is) being evil, then no amount of conservative dress will eliminate rape. And to argue that women who dress like sluts get raped implies that men simply cannot control themselves, and I find that offensive.
