Point 1) Unless you are on voice, nobody knows anything about you unless you tell them.

Point 2) Gamers are assholes. They are asshole to men. They are assholes to women. When they are assholes to women, it isn't because the target is a woman. It is because the gamer is an asshole.

What pisses me off, is that when I got my first games console, a japanese megarive in 1990 I think it was, and fuck me was it ace, the girls I knew were looked down on me.

Not long after that, suddenly all these girls started buying games consoles, and today its cool, because they say so.

I dunno, I play WoW, and there do seem to be two very specific groups of responses to women who expose themselves as female (incidentally, it's almost impossible to do the end-game content without voice chat):

"I love you, be my wow girlfriend, I'll give you stuff"
"OMFG, stupid bitch".

Now, admittedly, the girls who allow themselves to take advantage of reaction 1 make things more and more like reaction 2 for the other women, but there is a lot more vitriol for women on the games I've played.

After seeing first hand how men are discriminated at getting jobs, I sneer at any woman who claims feminine disadvantage. They're spoiled, and ignorant of their overwhelming and far-reaching privilege.
