The absence of compassion for men stems from the knowledge of how we use them. It protects us from caring too much else we lose that utility men provide. We can't afford to care.

Just read an interview with the author Roy Baumeister in a magazine. He basically says pretty much everything MR has said. That feminism is no longer needed in our culture, that most feminists these days see men as their enemy, that men are viewed as disposable by our culture, that it's pointless to argue with feminists, that there is no patriarchy and never was, etc...

And he used to be a feminist in the seventies...when feminism was needed, so yeah :)

Females have been oppressed, especially when growing up, and definitely still are. They are taught their worth IS their looks.

I think there are places in the US where feminism is still desperately needed, mainly in the south, and in certain cultures (not Hipsterville, Washington)

The idea that men are "disposable" to women in our culture is somewhat laughable.

It's kind of like affirmative action I suppose. Obviously unfair, undoubtedly wrong in my opinion, yet perhaps a natural reaction to years of oppression.
