Instead of saying crappy things like it's normal, which is not, better would be to give advice like : 'Why care about gender? Be happy you can even get a child'

I never understood why people wanted a specific gender for their child...

What also made me frown was when she explained what she'd gonna miss... As if it's impossible to do those things with a boy.

How is it, that, after feminism has done so much for equality that we are MORE focused on gender than ever?

Seems kinda backwards to me if you ask me.

Due to the weight difference between the X vs. Y chromosome it turns out that it is relatively cheap and easy to separate sperm based on type. However, it is considered unethical to select the sex of your baby in this way. I think that lots of people they want children of both sexes and should be able to choose after the first child IF their choice is to have a child of the other sex, e.g. if you have a boy normally you can pick to have a girl next. I know lots of families that have 3, 4, 5 kids because they kept trying to have one of the opposite sex.

Parents think they have it bad because they didn't get the gender they wanted? They should be so fucking lucky, i'd be damn near suicidal if I had a mouth of either gender to feed for the next 18 years.
