Kinda bad for the woman too. A woman being bitchy after completely misunderstanding something, nothing groundbreaking here. I think the problem is that people have become so accustomed to / annoyed by seeing the smug wife/woman and stupid man/husband relationship in commercials and other media, that they just keep making it worse and worse to try to get a reaction. People want the female marketing angle, it is largely up for grabs, but this relationship is so cliche, it is worthless. All it does is make it seem normal to be an ass to your husband, meanwhile the woman buy the same brands they always buy, because they aren't this stupid. An interesting side effect to this cliche is the infamous "Does this X make me look fat?" directed to the male. Anything other than an honest answer makes the question worthless, but answering yes is considered the highest insult, because woman have been conditioned to find it the highest insult.

I don't know about being offended by it's portrayal of men (after all, it was just one man and the lady in the commercial was kind of a cunt too.)

Nevertheless the commercial was horrendously offensive to me as a Cheerios-eater, I do not like us being portrayed as lame goddamn cliche suburbanite couples. I live in a shitty little apartment with two other assholes and smoke lots of weed. I eat whatever cheerios are on sale, and if it be whole grain then so be it.

My favourite part of that commercial is that they used a different voice-over in the American version than then Canadian one.

This is feminism in a nutshell or cheerio box. It was never about life being unfair to women cause they didn't control the public sphere while they did control the domestic. It was simply about not being able to control every act of men from cradle to grave...that's all it ever was.

This commercial is nothing more than women gloating about their victory over the stup menz...they didn't use to be able to tell us to shut up outside of her house...they they can control our every action with laws and social outlets.

Long time female reader of mensrights, first time commenter: I think this is a great commercial. What is good about it is that the company is trying to get across the message that the feature is great taste and that low-calorie is 'just' a benefit. And that you shouldn't hassle someone who's trying to enjoy their goddamn breakfast.

You guys do get that this is because they are selling it to women right? Same way that women are portrayed as brainless sex-bots in products marketed towards men. This add is probably brought on by women not feeling powerful enough in their relationships. Just as what i mentioned is brought on by men not getting enough sex. I personally find both the woman and the man repulsive in this add, but i guess that's because I am in a healthy relationship.

The milk on that spoon doesn't look natural. That offends me. That box and that spoon also seem wonky as if edited in. That commercial just bothers the hell out of me. Also, that cereal is dry. I like to pour the cereal in the bowl first, then add the milk. Don't poor my cereal on top of the milk, who wants to scoop up a spoonful of dry cereal in the morning?
