I have noticed this too:

you never hear "what made him snap" when a man murders someone
you never hear "he must have felt unloved" when a man is caught cheating
you never hear "he was abused" when a man kills his wife
...

Also, if you follow the link to the TV show, there is a poll on the right: "What's your favorite part of Snapped?"

"Seeing how these crimes are solved"
"Learning what makes women finally snap!"

Am I the only one who feels that the word "finally" there, is a border-line incitation to gender hatred (or worse) on the part of the Oxygen channel? What the hell? It sounds as if women were justified in killing men because, you know, they're really fed up or something. The video on the page shows the case of a woman who hired a hit-man to kill her husband for insurance money.. finally!

There is a subset of women in this country that I honestly wonder whether they even consider men as human beings at all. To quote Esther Vilar, from the Manipulated Man: "American women, more than other women, fail to consider men as fellow human beings".

Women, who are not alone in this, like to hear exactly what they believe is true. So therefore to achieve marketing success to women, you need to 'confirm' and 'validate' their beliefs/delusions.

It comes at no surprise to me then that this network is validating society's delusion that women are inherently innocent when in fact they can be much more manipulative, two-faced and duplicitous than men.

I honestly don't know where this innocent image comes from. I am confident in stating my belief that back-stabbing, betrayal, intentional social isolation and ostracising; and gossip with the aim of hurting someone's feelings is almost exclusively a female vocation.

Guys its the women's network, which is not particularly progressive for men or women. I think most rational people realize this.
