Please don't spread lies about a system you truly don't understand. In America, you MUST be convicted of the crime in a court of law by 12 of your peers BEFORE being added to the sex offender list. There are no exceptions, ever. American law regarding this is very straightforward, clear, and unchanging. Every American knows the penalty for being a convicted sex offender. Furthermore, it is highly unlikely for a 18 (legal) and 17(illegal) year old to ever be tried or convicted for having consensual sex. Americans wouldn't waste their time or tax payer money for a farce of justice. We do use discretion when we prosecute. - Lisa, Jacksonville, Forida, USA, 3/3/2010
