I know there are a lot of terrifying stories on this subreddit but don't be fucking crazy, relax, breath... Now repeat this: most children/parents of children are NOT out to get you.

Besides, children are more likely to come up with terrible lies about you if you DON'T give them candy.

We had a lot of single men and women in my neighborhood this year handing out candy. Good people and good neighbors. There's a lot to be said about living in a good neighborhood, but if you don't want to take part in that then why feel guilty. You are probably living in an investment and not a home, so no reason you need to stoop the the tradition of your fellow neighbors and take part in a tradition that will survive whether you participate or not.

If you trick or treated when you were a kid then it's your societal duty to give out candy. At least that's how I view it. It's like reverse social security.
