I'm almost certain that everyone pushing this at the CDC is either genitally mutilated themselves or married to someone who is genitally mutilated. Only people who are genitally mutilated propose more male genital mutilation.

I not advocating circumcision, it truly is barbaric, but as a circumcised man I want to chime in and say I still have quite a pleasurable sex life. Of course I can't compare how I feel to how I would feel with an uncircumcised penis.

I guess what I'm basically saying is that I would like to hear from a formerly uncircumcised man on the difference he feels after circumcision.

When my first son was born 8 years ago they tried to take him away for circumcision several times, despite us telling them repeatedly we weren't having the procedure done. this was up in Seattle.

My second son was just born 2 days ago, and I've been shadowing him like a hawk to make sure they don't try anything. turns out they rarely perform them at this hospital, and you have to jump through a lot of hoops to have it done. The hospital only has one doctor who does them and they try to get folks to take it up with their pediatrician.

From my perspective it looks like Dr.s and hospitals are slowly waking up!

I completely agree that male circumcsion is unnessecary, potentially dangerous and dissrepectful to a young boy's right to control his own body. However, to compare it to female "circumcision" is not correct. The point of female genital mutilation is to control a girl's sexual desires and ensure that she not have a functional sex life outside having children and not be able to recieve sexual pleasure. While removing the foreskin can decrease sensitivity and remove protection of delicate mucous membranes, circumcised men can and do still have healthy sexual lives and recieve sexual pleasure. This is not the case for women who have had their labia and clitoris removed. It would be more accurate to compare female genital mutilation to the removal of the entire head of the penis.
