The reason I ask is because these women did only what my friend did. - They trusted their partner. She said she was on the pill and that even if she did get pregnant she would have an abortion. And then 2 months later was pregnant. The guy is now paying for this for the rest of his life.

You could argue that HIV is a death sentence. But I know people who contracted HIV in the 80s who are still alive today. Sure it is a hardship in the same way that working to support a psycho woman who has latched herself onto my friend and refuses to support herself or her child is a lifelong hardship.

Men represent 93% of workplace deaths. I am not sure that in the western world more people die of AIDs or more people die of child support.

No, a woman does not consent to receive HIV. Similarly, sex is not consent to be a mother/father.

Well, the man knows he can impregnate the woman (even if she's on the pill). Does the woman know that the man has HIV?
