In my country, people do not move out of their parents' houses until they get married.
But I bought a house before I got married and I used to go around buying appliances and the usual things for a house.
At one white goods store, a saleswoman told me, "Let's not waste time. Why don't you come with her"?
She meant my fiance - because it is to be assumed that men know nothing about appliances such as hobs, ovens, washing machines etc. At the time I was not even engaged and I wanted to buy a house as an investment and also have somewhere to move out of my parents' house. She lost hundreds of Euros in commission.
