I know that you are joking but I really want to spread this message: I come from a small EU country and people from my country were routinely captured by Moslem pirates from Africa and used as slaves in Africa. Europeans were captured and sold as slaves in Africa for hundreds of years!

Straight white male here but with LGBT sympathies (is that how I say it?) I was chosen for a job where the vast majority of the workforce were women. But there were some aspects of the job that necessitated occasional outside inspections and possibly confrontations. My immediate boss was a woman with less qualifications than me and her boss was a flamboyant gay male. I started noticing men leaving the work place and I realized that the women liked their desk jobs but wanted men to do the dirty w…

'All leftists' ? If anything the MRA gets accused of being far right. But to answer your question, yes, I do check historical facts. Franco saw Juan Carlo as an ally. But when Juan Carlo was made king, he went against his alleged promises and facilitated the installation of democracy in Spain.

Why do we even give these idiots importance? Don't click on the link so it won't register more hits. I am from an EU country and I have no idea what a pumpkin spice latte is. Neither do any of the women I know. Over here both men and women drink the same type of coffee - espresso or capuccino. What sort of narcissistic sociopath tries to genderise coffee?

u/shit-zen-giggles I only have one account and I am not sure that your idea of having different accounts is a good one. Sometimes people have attacked me for being active on r/MensRights But I want to show those people that my whole life does not revolve around MRA - I am interested in science, politics, religion, music and family.

In my country we have many taxi companies but I like to use one of them that has been established for many years, has a really efficient app, good drivers and reasonable prices. I like to sit in the front next to the driver and often get into conversations with the drivers. After the ride we are asked to rate the driver. I have never given any one of them anything less than full points. One of the drivers told me that he picked up 3 teenage girls who all climbed onto the back seat from one door.…

It is a well known fact that when a murder occurs through poisoning, it is much more likely to have been committed by a woman. Poisoning requires forethought, planning, and a cold calculating character. Murders committed by men are more likely to be crimes of passion - committed with no preplanning. They are not the result of an evil wicked plan, but occur because of sudden moments of anger, usually provoked through long periods of taunting and provocation. The title of this post is not perfectl…

Some years ago before I got married and had a son - I used to do body building. I am over 6 feet tall and my body building look was not overtly muscular but just looking extremely fit. I had women crossing over to my side! I stopped working out and now have a beer belly. I also let my beard grow. I am acutely aware of the negative way most women look at me and treat me. It just shows the shallowness of most women.

I was born into a Catholic family but I gradually became an atheist. I have now returned to Catholicism. Catholic teaching defines the different roles of men and women. Catholics accept that men and women should have equal rights, but they have different roles. When I mixed with atheists I met a large number of the sort of people who saw it as their duty to appear to be radical feminists.

I live in a hot country and I attended a private Catholic school. We had Winter and Summer uniforms. Boys 11 and over wore a very light cotton school t-shirt and cotton trousers during the warm months. Younger boys could wear shorts if they wanted to. During the Winter we all wore long trousers, a shirt and tie and a blazer.

This is so true. When I started my first full time job - I was in my early twenties and the youngest male in a mixed gender work environment. All the older men kind of competed to take me under their wing. One man, a sociologist, told me to look at the women inside the room and follow their gaze when someone entered the room. When a man entered the room they barely looked up but when another woman came in they examined her from head to foot. Another thing I noticed is that men were generally tru…

A paternity test can be of several types but the simplest type only requires a cheek swab. If push comes to shove you can do it yourself with a home test kit. The problem with such a method is that it is not legally binding.

I am in Malta, a small EU country. We have dozens of organisations, some governmental and others non governmental that 'tackle' female issues. I am obviously furious at the double standards the Western justice systems employ when dealing with men and women. I remember a teacher in her late twenties going out with a boy in 5th form (15 year old). Their relationship was so open that she took him with her to social functions. When it comes to transexual issues, my country's laws have become ridiculous. If a man decides that he wants to identify as a woman all that he needs to do is go to a notary (with no need for medical certificates or any documentation) and have his gender changed on all official documents. On a couple of occasions, when I was younger, I kissed another guy. But as we grow older these sorts of things become increasingly repulsive for those of us who are straight.

I'm a hard science graduate and the system in my country is similar to the British system. Before we can apply to join a degree course we have to obtain certificates in the 3 main advanced level sciences: chemistry, biology and physics. Biology is by far a science dominated by women. But physics, which is absolutely necessary for engineering, does not seem to be a favourite with women. Several years ago it was being argued that women were shying away from physics because when teaching the basic …

I think that team sports like football may mimic some hardwired instincts in men - like hunting. I am a straight man but I hate football - and so do all the men that I can think of in my family. But then again most men in my family are into hunting. One of my first friends after I left high school was very much into football - he played with a team. My sister fancied him but after some time I got to know he was gay. I met another couple of men who were football players and were also gay.

OP I suspect that we are from the same country. When I was about 7 a girl who was older than me convinced me to get into the back of her father's van which was parked in a dark garage. She told me that we were going to play 'mummies and daddies'. She took down her panties and told me to kiss her there. I did not know what was happening. Eventually, her father found us and he scolded me for being 'naughty'.

I am from an EU country and from what I read here, some things in the USA are way worse than in my country. Nowadays both the wife and the husband work outside the home but there is a tendency for women to do the majority of housework - especially cooking. (Many couples get a maid once a week for a good cleaning of the house.) There is a huge difference between my parents' generation and mine. My mother always did all the housework as did most women of her time. They did not work outside the hom…

Years ago I knew an older man who at the time was in his 40s. He looked very healthy but he suffered from serious heart problems. He told me of the many times he had to do dangerous things because people assumed he was strong just because he was a man. One of the saddest times was when a woman asked him to give her car a push as her battery had died. He knew he was not supposed to do heavy excercise but he was too ashamed to say no. He pushed her car, she drove off, and he had a heart attack.

At university most sociology and philosophy professors were Marxists. Or that is what they said. But they still collected their fat wage packets Some of them were very unpleasant people. The worst one was a female sociology professor who described herself as a radical feminist. My main subjects at university were the hard sciences but I still sat for a few non science credits. I came to the conclusion that Marxism is sometimes a good tool to analyse society but it does not offer any real solutio…

Dwardu - from your username I can tell that you are either Maltese or very familiar with Maltese names. What you wrote about forced gender parity in parliament is very true. We have women in parliament who were not elected by the people but because 'progressive' laws now dictate that if the people do not elect enough women, laws kick in to automatically 'elect' extra woman. This is so undemocratic that I am surprised that no one has taken Malta to the EU court of human rights.

Poe's Law I was not using satire, but quoting what I heard. If you mean that the writers of the dialogue were using satire, well the Simpsons is a comedy, but it makes very real reflections on society.

The Simpsons has been going on for many decades and there are 'mistakes' in the continuity. I was sure that I had seen an episode where Seymour is shown to be an impostor and I managed to find the reference: "The episode which is often considered to be the turning point between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ Simpsons came in the ninth season episode ‘The Principal And The Pauper’, where Skinner reveals himself to be an imposter who took on the identity of man he thought had died in the Vietnam war." https://s…

The story lines have evolved over the years. Things which were OK in the 90s are not permitted nowadays. For example Mr. Smithers, Mr. Burns's assistant, was black in the first episode but that got changed. The writing reflects today's realities including the politics.

I enjoyed your take on the characters. It is amazing how 2 different people can see the same thing and interpret it in completely opposite ways. I see Marge as a woman who suffers in silence. I agree with you that Mrs. Skinner (the principal's mother) is easily the most toxic character. One episode explains this. Seymour is not really her son. The policeman's wife is not an idiot at all. In one of the recent episodes, she starts talking to Marge and Marge is surprised at how deep the woman is.

This is shocking. My elderly parents insist on donating money to every charity show that is shown on national TV. I must be careful how I word this, lest I be misunderstood: I read the news story and it had me squirming and made me almost throw up. I think that when a man is raped - and by rape I mean anal penetration - the psychological harm (apart from the physical harm) is much greater than when a woman is vaginally raped. Obviously I condemn with ferocity raping of women, but for a man it is something that destroys him. I think that if something so terrible happened to me I would never recover.

I suggest that men check their hormone levels during their yearly medical check up. As we age testosterone levels decrease. When I told my doctor that I had used steroids obtained 'illegally', he told me that I should not trust medicines that I inject into my body and which have not passed through all the checks and balances of real medicines. He suggested an injectable called Nebido, made by Bayer in Germany. It is a very slow release form of testosterone so that doses can be 4 months apart.

The usual protcol that the other guys in the gym used was 10 weeks of testosterone injections at 250mg per week injected in a muscle. The effects of testosterone are dramatic. First of all, you gain muscle more easily, secondly, your mood improves, you become much more sexual and the only negative aspect is that you may tend to engage in more risk taking behaviour. If there is a pill that lowers tes…

Even as a very young boy I was bewildered when I read comics about Wonder Woman and how she came from a society with no men. Apart from the biological impossibility, I wondered what advantages there would be to having no men. I see a huge difference between the sub mensrights and subs like xx. Personally I love women and don't want a world with no women. I don't hate women. The sub mensrights deals with issues of discrimination but radical feminist subs wallow in hate for men.

In my country there is one major university that sees its origin in the 16th century. Several years ago a competing 'college' opened its doors and started offering a huge diversity of degrees and diplomas. The main university had to try and compete and from being a serious university it started offering courses in gender studies, in theater etc. I studied sciences at this university but I also did some credits in the humanities. The problem is that all professors are leftists. Some of them Marxi…

Even in Europe it depends on the country. For example in Germany and the Nordic countries they are much more liberal - I felt uncomfortable to see boys of 12 or so together with their fathers in the sauna.

You really misunderstood my feelings. I have graduate and post-graduate degrees in Chemistry. For my first degree, I was obliged to take some credits in non-science subjects. Some of the credits I took involved the philosophy of science (concentrating on philosophers like Kuhn). I had a few credits in psychology, including educational psychology and one credit in gender differentials in education. I chose the latter because at the time we wanted more girls to choose science subjects. I also taug…

I come from a Catholic family and I am still a practicing Catholic of sorts. My son goes to a Catholic school, like I did. I stopped seeing my father naked when I was little. I was allowed to be around the house in my underwear until I was 10 or so. Perhaps, it is our Catholic culture, but I don't allow my son to run around naked.

It seems that some Maltese men are seeing the double standards and the hypocrisy in this proposed law and are writing comments beneath the article. I am including one of the comments below. I studied chemistry at university and those of us carrying out research had access to a huge arsenal of chemicals. We also knew how toxic certain chemicals were and what effects they would have if ingested. One female student 'attempted' suicide by drinking denatured alcohol. This is typical of socialist parties - they always want equality of outcome. They are notorious, in my country, for ruining the education system each time they are in government. They do away with exams. They mix students of all abilities together - so that the brighter students are pulled down and the less able students are told that they are equal but in reality they are losing out too as they do not get the education that they need.

In my country it is illegal for men to not wear a top when they are in a public place except a beach. Women are not allowed to be topless even on a beach. Many women ignore this rule and they sunbathe and swim topless. The police do nothing. But in my country (small European nation) all that you need to do to change your official gender is go to a notary and for some Euro 50 you can choose whichever gender you want for all your official documents including your birth certificate. In my country the first comment would automatically trigger a criminal investigation and criminal prosecution when the woman is found as abortion for any reason is illegal here. I don't want to give too much info about my case. But think about it: In many professions - the real workers are men. For example in STEM, especially engineering and the hard sciences, females are very few. I happen to possess specialized knowledge that required research in areas that no woman would dare venture. I am glad, reading the comments, that I am not alone in finding such attempts at having children at all costs weird and also distastesful. This comes form a man in his mid 40s with a 6 year old son. My wife is 36. Had we waited a while longer - there would probably have been difficulties in conceiving. But people need to understand that we do not have the right to have children. Roadside assistance is just one example where men are discriminated against. I am in Europe but we use the unusual UK plugs for appliances. So anything we buy has a European plug but we need it changed to a UK plug. My father taught me how to change plugs when I was a very young kid but many people don't know how to change them. In the high school which I attended there were no shower doors or curtains to cover the showers. Being a 17-year-old boy this made me very self-conscious. Amongst other things I trained as a photographer. With Photoshop I can make a dog look like a super model and no one would be the wiser. However, most phones have 'beauty' settings and they produce dramatic effects. The problem is that the 'beautification' is obvious to anyone with some knowledge. Take the African American girl - she has gone overboard with cheap mobile phone filters that have drastically changed her looks. She looks nothing like that in real life.

Even if i was 'going after this woman' what is wrong about a slight age difference? You are showing that you support ageism. While talking to her I suggested a Facebook page where she could find a better job. Don't you understand that men and women can be friends?

I'm not sure whether you understood what I wrote. Not everyone is the same. While doing a psychology credit at university the standard textbook was describing something related to personal space - an experiment was carried out where cameras were placed over urinals (Yeah, I know, who the hell comes up with these experiments?) and men were timed for how long it took them to start peeing. It was established that men take longer to start urination if there is someone near. Apart from that, as we me…

Funny what turn this post took lol. There is a sort of unwritten and unspoken etiquette which I suppose applies to some degree all over the world that you do not go near someone else if there is space elsewhere. I am from Malta - a nation just 100 km (60 miles) away from Italy. And you may be right because even here there is often no division between urinals and that sort of thing. But some men have a 'shy bladder'. It means you can't start if you do not have privacy. For example in my case I do not like to have people near me. Yes, of course, sexuality in its wider sense is a thriving area of research. You said that love is a drug. I and I assume all men here do not approve of any behaviour where a man or a woman makes advances on another person when the other person shows that they are not comfortable. The young woman was a foreigner and perhaps a little anxious in a strange bar. I know the bar in question. In Malta political parties have an office and a bar in every town and village and these are not attractive places. Except perhaps during the weekend, they are not populated by old pensioners but by young party goers. T…

I once had a female client who travelled with her 6-7 year old son. My own son was still a baby then. On a few occasions, she left the boy with me. For example, I took her to a bank and her son was with us. He was begging her to take him to the sea. She asked me whether I would mind taking him since she had to wait for another hour. I took him and when I brought him back she was still at the bank. I must admit that I liked the boy, even more than my partner did. He liked football, his mother was…

Be careful about reporting a female colleague. Read what happened to me. In your case you have an advantage: she did this to several men. See if they are all ready to sign a paper saying what she did and the company cannot ignore or retaliate against let's say half a dozen men.

It is not Australia. It is in the EU. For those asking why the police are involved, there are certain crimes in my country where the police can act 'ex-officio' - I do not know what that it is in English. If, for example, it is alleged that I did not stop at a red light and I ran over the toes of a man, if the man reports the incident but then tries to take back his report, he is not allowed to do so.

What sounds fake? I live on the island of Malta - our one university goes back 500 years. When I joined we were just a few hundred students because the socialists had been discouraging higher learning. The year the Christian Democrats came to power I joined a science course. I need to stress that I had a couple of very good female professors. One of them was a socialist too but she did not care about my political ideology. What is even sadder is when some male professors or teachers favour girls. During my first year we were divided into small groups of 6 or so. There was one male professor who always chose the prettiest girls in his group, Of course they all got top marks. I asked one of the girls: Don't you see that he chose you and is giving you top marks because you are pretty? She told me :"Of course I know and I'd be an idiot not to take advantage of him."

I can almost recite the opening sentences by heart. The author describes the movement of his tongue when he says the name. Try it, it is uncanny. In my opinion, the best novel of the 20th century is 1984 by George Orwell, but Nabokov's work is close behind. I studied the hard sciences at university and we were always taught to keep the language we used as uncomplicated and as clear as possible. If I pretend that my house has been broken into so that I get the insurance payout, but later I feel that what I did was wrong and go to say what really happened and give the money back. Wouldn't it be better if we stop prosecuting fraudsters so as not to discourage others from confessing? Thieves, too, of course.

Hmm I see your point. The most important thing in such cases is to free the wrongly convicted. I think what angered me most was that the police did not want to prosecute her as it may frighten other people from making accusations. To me it sounds like the message is - there are no consequences to saying anything you like. In my country there was a similar case - a girl came forward after a few years to say that her mother had told her to make up the story. This resulted in her father being convi…

Some of the comments here mention that 'love' is a different thing in the way it is experienced by men and women. This is an area which fascinates me. I majored in Chemistry and Biology was my second subject. We spent many but many weeks learning and studying about sexual selection. Sexual selection was first made popular by Charles Darwin himself. But I do not think that is the right sub for me to go off geeking about evolution.

Having mentioned this - it is horrible to work in a lab with women. We guys just know what to do and why we are doing it. But for some reason women wanted to stick to the book. They did not understand why we were required to do certain things. So if for example the manuals stated that all test tubes had to be autoclclaved at 120 C for 30 minutes they would not give in if I tried to decrease the time by increasing the temperature and pressure but reducing the time.

At the time I was working in a bacteriology lab and the disinfectant I used to sterilse everything was really foul smelling. I had technicians to sterilise stuff using autoclaves, but I was the guy who was sort of ' first line' to prevent spread of microbes. I got used to the smell but even people on the bus would not sit near me lol.

My area is chemistry (though I have done many different things) and I have gone to interviews stinking of chemicals. One time it was an all male interviewing board and I phoned before to ask if I could take some time to shower and change into fresh clothes as I stank of chemicals. The guy at the other end told me - we are not women - we don't care what you are wearing - just come after you finish work.

I have stated this elsewhere in this sub. My undergraduate and post graduate training is in the hard sciences. But my university recommended that people like me also take a few credits in the humanities. One of the credits I chose was delivered by a radical feminist professor. Like many other branches of Biology it is framed within evolution as it makes more sense that way. It was just curiosity as someone mentioned a sub and how it is still allowed on Reddit. Before the internet, magazines were the only place where I could see what women were being told to do and how to act. This comment is being downvoted unnecessarily. I think that it is a genuine question because we are brought up to believe that rape = forced penetration. The law is gender neutral but its aim is to increase the number of women. The newspaper (The Times of Malta is the most respected newspaper in the country) says so in the headline. Right now there are less than 10 women in a parliament of 69 members. https://parlament.mt/en/13th-leg/political-groups/
/r/MensRights18/04/21 11:26 PM
12

In practical terms the law is meant to increase the number of women in parliament. This is sexist and undemocratic because it interferes with what people vote for.
/r/MensRights18/04/21 09:57 PM
11

Funny you should say that. The socialists in my country played around with our electoral law a few decades ago so that even if they got a minority of votes they could still have a majority of parliamentary seats. It took us many turbulent years to include a clause in our constitution that said that the party that got the majority of votes also got to govern the country.
/r/MensRights18/04/21 09:21 PM
13

You sound like a lawyer. One must look at the SPIRIT of the law and not at the the words. In Malta, as in most other Western democratic countries, the number of elected representatives depends on the number of votes each candidate gets. It is an abomination to interfere with whom people (men and women) choose to represent them in parliament. It is also a fact that slightly fewer women get elected to parliament than men.

|military service is necessary for the country (which can be true for small countries) I live in a very small country and we never had conscription. What is terrifying is that his innocence only came to light because when the daughter grew up she could not live with herself and with her evil deeds. The court believed all the lies and an innocent man was sent to prison as a child molester. I don't want to think of how many other such cases exist but where the man will never be 'lucky enough' to have the main witness confess to having lied.

I could not find any study in mensrightslinks. As I see it the only way we can compare is by asking men who were already sexually active before they were circumcised. Are you involved in a court case? If there is a court case be wary of making any statements. I recently learned that women are allowed to have small mirrors (presumably to put on make up in prison) while men face a lot of trouble in trying to get mirrors for more important things like shaving. In my country (and most other Western European countries), circumcision is a rare thing. Someone I know once told me that he used to feel a little self conscious that he was circumsised because circumcision is such a rare thing. So this argument can work both ways. In any case it is a very stupid reason to try to justify male mutilation. Also, as others have said, there is an unspoken rule that in locker rooms you do not look down.

I must admit that I agree with you. In normal language, 'rape' means exactly as you described it. However in legal parlance (also depends on the country) there is such a thing as statuary rape and if the sexual acts happen with someone below the age of consent, then legally it is assumed that there was no consent. I know that in such a case it makes no sense but this is the same language used against men. Like you I would prefer to use different words in such a case (such as 'unlawful sexual act…

".. but men who would do it to underage girls should be treated as pedophiles." The OP falls for the trap that 'sex with an under age person' = paedophilia. It is good to understand what real paedophilia is. It involves a sexually mature individual having sex with a person who has not reached puberty. So a 17 year old who is sexually interested in a 10 year old is showing signs of paedophilia but a 60 year old who shows interest in a 17 year old is probably not a paedophile because most 17 year …

I've just looked up some info and I am surprised to see that you have 4 official languages (we have 2) with one of them being Greenlandic - I did not even know that such a language existed.

Why do you waste your time with such people? I know many wonderful women. Sometimes I think that the relationship my mother and father have is perfect. They cannot even bear to sleep one night away from each other. My partner and the mother of my son is no feminist and we treat each other with respect. I have a very young son and my instincts would probably drive me to kill anyone who does something to him. But that would be passion driving me and not reason. Most people in Europe, myself included are shocked and saddened when we see how the USA treats some of its citizens. Just because a person does something terrible you cannot take away from him his most basic right - that to life.
/r/MensRights26/08/20 09:32 PM

Thank you for being the voice of reason. NO MATTER what a person does or is thought to have done the state should not have the power to kill its citizens in cold blood. The USA is the only Western style democracy that allows the state to kill its citizens in cold blood. We find this abhorrent in Europe.

Nowadays, England as a country and the whole population hang their heads in shame when reminded that in the 1950s Alan Turing was chemically castrated which led to him committing suicide. Turing was the man who broke the code used by the Nazi forces and was instrumental in the winning of WWII by Allied powers. As one of the acts of contrition Britain has placed his face on one of their banknotes. It is amazing to hear that there are places in the USA where this barbaric practice is carried out. …

Not really. I live in an extremely small country and we do not have very long roads. Typically, speed cameras are placed in the middle of on any straight stretch of road that is at least 500m long. You cannot really accelerate that much in such a short distance. Well, 500m is enough for me to reach 140km/hr )that is the maximum that I have dared reach without being afraid of running out of road) comfortably but when they place a camera in the middle of that 500m stretch you can speed for 100m bu…

Not sure about that - I think age is an important factor too. Until some years ago, in my country, there was no law on the age for alcohol consumption. When we were in our 20s, hanging around in some park with friends, on several occasions I called some random kid who was playing near us to go buy us a couple of cans of beer and get a Pepsi for himself. Even though my views may be considered 'liberal' by USA standards I hold some views that in my country sound conservative. For example I am against abortion in principle. I don't mean the type of abortion that is the morning after pill. I am against aborting a human being that has been gestating for let's say 3 months. In my country we get a huge percentage of illegal immigrants from Africa. Some of them are pregnant women. They do not have citizenship or the means to bring up a child. I have my…

Since some of us guys have started discussing different movies I must recommend a British movie called 'The full monty'. It is about male strippers but it is not a movie for women. It is a movie for us men. The story revolves around a group of men who are considered bad husbands or bad fathers, through no fault of their own. The thing they come up with to make money out of the willingness of women to see naked men is brilliant. For some reason this film struck a chord inside me and I think it wi…

I tend to agree with you. My hobby / sideline is photography. Several years ago maybe a couple of parents asked me to photograph a baby naked. The way we did it was to have the baby face down on a fluffy material. I never photographed a baby (let alone an older child) where you could see the front. Moreover my photos went to a big company for printing. I have never photographed a child in any way that made me feel uncomfortable. I don't know how the police system in your country works. In my country if somebody reports me to the police for anything that is even slightly illegal, the police just call me on the phone and tell me "Listen, we got a report hat you were driving without lights." Motorcycles in my country have the headlights permanently turned on once you are driving them. There was some resistance at first when this was introduced but since it may be easy to miss a motorcycle while you are driving a car - anything that helps their visibility helps keep bikers safe.

Yes, that is one other thing! For example when I give way to car, if it is being driven by a man he will thank me with a hand gesture. Men also thank me when I stop for them to cross the road. I have never seen a woman thank me for stopping to allow her to cross. I cannot decide whether they do not thank me because (1) They think it might come off as flirting or (2) because of their ingrained sense of entitlement.

No, I said headlamps, not daylight running lights. I also said that cars nowadays tell you if you have your headlights on. For example my car beeps madly if I try to exit and have my headlamps on. You see that is where small differences between various countries come in. We do not have policemen with speed cameras. The cameras are in fixed positions on roads where speeding is common and by law we must be warned that there is a camera ahead. So there are signs signalling that a camera is coming up.
/r/MensRights24/08/20 07:15 PM

Maybe it is something that is common only to my country. Flashing your headlamps at an incoming car can mean different things like 1. Hey wake up! you are drifting into the wrong lane 2. Your main lights are on in daylight 3. A greeting between people who recognise each other.

From what I have experienced, when I am with my partner or my son I get different reactions from those I get when I am alone. Meanwhile... I do not want to blow this out of proportion. Probably some men are not even aware of it. Yes, I suppose I should have been more precise. It was something to do with children who are still exposed to radiation from Chernobyl. I do not remember the details. Some people in my situation choose to have the woman declare that she does not know who the father is. This fact is put down on the child's birth certificate as 'father unknown'. Yes you are right and what you said is a biological fact that should be accepted. Women have mammary glands (breasts) and the silly and so called progressive attempts by several governments (including our own) to start giving parental leave to either the mother or the father, when before only the woman qualified, makes little sense. However once a child has grown up beyond the breast feeding stage there is no biological difference between men and women as parents.

I so get what you are saying.... I will not go into personal details but we keep a certain distance. Having a baby is a huge commitment - but I felt I was getting old and she is not that young either. It was our last chance to be parents. They say that women feel a biological clock ticking away if they do not have children, but I think I kinda felt it too.

God... did I come across as the type who is madly in love and sees the world through rose tinted glasses? It is not like that. I have learned to never idolise anyone. We have all been through phases where we fall in love for the first time and for some of us it hurt like hell. That period taught me to sort of protect myself and keep some distance. Gay men are men - for me it makes no difference. Probably some of the men I know are gay but I was never told. In 2013 when the Socialists were electe…

My father taught me to do all sort of things when I was very young. My mother's washing machine blew a fuse(we use the UK system) ? No problem I changed it. By the time I was 10 I could fit a plug to an appliance, move the car if it was blocking someone, and prepare simple food. It would be illegal today, but when I was not tall enough to see over the car dashboard, I sat on my dad's lap and held the steering. I know where you are going with your argument about your son. You are now making me think too. When I was still a teen my parents were not that strict with me. For example if I decided to not go home and sleep at a friends I just phoned and all was OK. My sister was not allowed to do such things. We had a saying ' a boy is always a clean cloth' - it is difficult to translate but what it meant was that a boy's reputation was not easily ruined while a girl had to safeguard her reputation. Alas - I am old enough to know that love and happiness are most often fleeting periods. I do not blame men or women for the fact that love and happiness are almost never permanent. Thank you. I think that with age some or many of us learn things because of past mistakes. For example if she goes out with some girlfriends - do I need to know where she went, who she spoke to etc? For some time I had a friend - a much older woman. We used to spend hours drinking and talking. She was a widow but she spoke of her husband with what I would call devotion. I mentioned what I went through, because increasing my testosterone levels made me do more daring and dangerous things. But even ordinary men who have never messed about with supplements have much higher levels of testosterone than women. It is something natural. I am suspecting that we may indulge in some sorts of behaviour because our physiology and anatomy makes us that way. We cannot fight nature. So if a woman is excused for some actions because of 'hormonal imbalance' why can't our hormone…

Opening up is a relative thing. I think that most of us, even if we do it subconsciously, reveal fragments of who we are to different people. The way I behave with let's say a drinking buddy and the things we share are not the same things I say to my partner. I am not saying that I hide things but I am a great believer in that if a romantic relationship is to last as long as possible you must maintain some mystery and some distance. I love my partner and I am not unfaithful to her but she does n…

I've posted some way back in this sub about a woman who first pretended to listen to me, or well, maybe she did not pretend but was curious to know intimate things about me. Later on she made fun of me in public because I shared my feelings. But obviously not all women are like that. I remember that years ago I got emails advertising 'Russian brides'. This was years ago and since then I've met Russian women. I am not sure whether it is because I still have that stereotype but it could be that they are a little bit more feminine in the sense that they like to have a man open a…

I meant that it is not something any parent would be willing to subject their son to and doctors never recommend the procedure when it is not needed. It is seen as needed when the foreskin is too tight and the glans cannot be exposed. This starts to create problems like recurrent urinary tract infections even in early childhood. Later on intercourse will be painful.

There have been, and there continue to be attempts to explain homosexual behaviour. Some years back a small group of scientists said that they had found a 'gay gene'. The research has not stood up to rigorous examination. What you wrote about exposure to hormones in the womb is a hypothesis with little real facts to stand on and it fails to explain homosexuality in animals which hatch from eggs, especially those which come from one large batch of eggs. No, I am not comparing the two things. I was just pointing out that what this doctor wrote was not all factually right. " Human sexuality is binary. You either have a normal Y chromosome, and develop into a male, or you don’t, and you will develop into a female. " There are many cases of people who are not like that. For example there was some research (which was later shown to be faulty) that said that men who are born with XYY have a much higher chance of showing violent tendencies. I also fin…

I thought that there was something fishy about this article! I've looked up what the 'American College of Pediatricians' is and it is a very small group of very conservative doctors. Their primary focus is against abortion ( I am on the fence about this) and they also advocate 'conversion therapy' for gays. I really do not understand this gender identity thing. However while the doctor is almost right, in some very rare cases babies are not born with the usual XX chromosomes for a girl or XY for a boy. There are cases of XXY for example and I think such a case, while extremely rare, is a real medical condition. There are several things I don't get: if a man is prepared to go for gender re-assignment surgery which involves things which would scare the hell out of most men, he must have a really stro…

Many male animals compete for mates using several strategies. The pea-cock, for example uses the handicap principle. Male deer fight each other with their antlers but interestingly then never hit the abdomen of their competitor so it becomes more like a wrestling match. You are making me remember many small incidents. I usually forget about this stuff or laugh about it. Up to some years ago when she already had kids and I had none I bought presents for her, her husband and her kids and she only had to buy presents for me and my partner. When my son was born, at least part of the imbalance was addressed. I real…

You are so right. Some women do work that is ' very visible ' when it comes to looking after the elderly. So for example women are good at accompanying their mother or father to the doctor or to hospital just for a check up or some medical tests. I find that I end up doing the much harder work of cooking (yes, I know that society makes us believe that only women cook for their parents or for their children), looking after equipment in the house and running around to have it repaired or serviced,…

You are right, once again. I tend to try and avoid conflict but then what happens is that sometimes, when it gets too much, I kinda blow my top. And when I get angry and shout I look like I am a bad guy. Because, you know, just because a man speaks loudly and maybe throws in a 'fuck' or ' shit' in a sentence he is terrible person.

You are right in principle. But damn, man, she manages to manipulate things so I end up looking bad and her looking good. I mean we are no longer kids now. We both have children of our own (though she is older than me) but sometimes I feel so naive when it comes to ' people strategies'. I am no good when it comes to all those subtle ways some women use to influence people and get their way.

Her children are now in their twenties or teens. I love how she tells me that her son (my nephew) 'tells her EVERYTHING'. The thing is that the boy ( in his late teens) has a good relationship with me and tells me things which he would never tell his parents. Recently he asked me about contraception for his girlfriend. He asked me if a doctor would give his gf the pill. I checked with a doctor friend who told me that yes a girl in her teens (as long as over 15) can go alone to a doctor for a pre…

I feel bad... but I did give her the lift. Unfortunately she managed to manipulate my parents into thinking I am the villain (because I gave her a piece of my mind while I was driving her home). The problem is that many women have a way with words and with getting into someone\s head. We men, are not so good at that kind of thing.

Stereotyping is a big problem. I assume many people here are from the USA. I'm from Europe and the biggest political parties in the EU are centre left (The Christian Democrats and the Socialists). I consider myself to be centre left too, which may not mean the same thing it does here that it means in the USA. It is a pity that advocating for REAL gender equality is considered by some people as a far right ideology.

If you saw the exchange I doubt that they know what a mysoginist is. The person in question, to be honest, just comes across as someone very immature. The kind who will tell you that he slept with your mother. He then went on to tell me that my wife is sleeping with another man, thus being sexist, because they consider that women who have unfaithful sex are somehow worse than men who do the same thing. One thing which I can't stand is that when you make an argument which is good and to which they can find no counter argument they downvote you into oblivion so your post disappears. You know: freedom of speech and all that. But actually not even freedom of thought is allowed. Anything that does not fit the narrative accepted by the majority is considered evil. I have faint memories from when I was in kindergarden (pre school) and it was run by nuns. One of the memories is that of a nun who punished a boy for something by making him stand in front of the class with his trousers down. At that age you assume that everything an adult does is right. But I mean, you can't even make this stuff up! What is wrong with some people?

I used to work at a place where one of my colleagues, a married woman, kept making advances even though she knew I was in a long term relationship. Because I kept refusing she tried to make my life hell. Luckily my boss was a man and he knew about her tricks so that helped. One of the things she used to do was tell everyone about her lovers (and that obviously meant that she was cheating on her husband). I did not know the man but felt so sorry for him. As an aside: I ask all men to think of the ways in which we often 'offend' each other when we know one another well, by making jokes. I consider it one way that we use to bond. For example, one pub I used to go to became my favourite place and the regulars all knew each other. Most other guys drank scotch or vodka but I almost always had Gin. Sometimes I was 'made fun of' for drinking something weird. I was never offended and I gave as much as I received. But out of curiosity I once asked the ba…

I see that you are one of those people who like to over analyse something that someone says as an aside, without thinking. You then proceed to fit the results of your ' analysis' into your preferred narrative. This is the sort of attitude that harms people. It makes people become snowflakes. It actively teaches people how to get offended. You are no different from the Muslims who will blow up a building because someone draws a cartoon ' because they were offended'. Guess what? One of our freedom…

I don't know where you live. Can you imagine a guy like that with his pink beer in a rough neighbourhood? Yes, other European countries have them too. In Malta there was a Minister for equality until a few months ago. She had male and female staff. She saw through legislation that gave the go ahead for things like gay marriage and lowering the age of consent from 18 to 16. The thing about age of consent made a lot of sense since in Malta it was always legal to get married at age 16 but it was illegal to have sex with anyone under 18. It was mostly men who were affected by this stupid discrepancy. It…

A few years ago there was a case in the country where I live, where the husband of a well known woman made a report to the police about violence used by his wife against him. Some sections of the media made fun of this man and they kept referring to this incident and demeaning the husband. The police did not even take the case to the criminal courts. So if a man slaps a woman he is a dangerous, abusive violent criminal, but if a woman either physically attacks her partner or uses other forms of …

There are issues, first of all, with the definition of rape. Apparently even if she has sex but then regrets it, that can count as rape. But really false as in completely made up accusations were quite common where I live. We get lots of teenage / early twenties foreign students who come to 'study English'. For some time there was a spike in claims of rape being made mostly by these foreign women. It had to be the insurance companies who exposed what was happening. All that a young woman needed …

I appreciate your support but I don't want to go into all the details. Moreover I'm not from the USA and we don't have the litigation culture (I am not saying it is a bad thing) that seems to be present in the USA. This was some years ago and it did not really affect my degree. The final grade for the credit depended on some research I carried out. I concluded from what I observed that there were differences between boys and girls in a learning environment. She did not like my findings and my conclusions. Get screen grabs from the sub. Don't deal with the mods but with the police. Make a police report and state that you want the post removed. No need to add comments like ' wanted to throw up'. The only reason seems to have been that she was 30ish. You will be 30ish too, one day. If this story is true it is a very good example of how women can get away with this sort of thing. Imagine if a man did that!

Thanks for this. I do not feel that I need to ' heal' from this because I do not feel 'damaged' or traumatised. It just angers me that women can act this way and get away with it, while a man would be crucified for doing the same thing.

I've let it go, don't worry for me. I'm sure that you tell women who were coerced int having sex to 'let it go' and not make a big fuss about it, seek psychological help, ruin some poor bastard's life and that sort of thing.

I like when someone plays the devil's advocate and I like to be challenged to change my opinion. I did not want to have sex with her from the very beginning - even before that day. This thing happened because she PLANNED it. I am not claiming that I was 'abused' as in ' damaged' or what have you. Thanks for this and especially thanks for not being a dick and telling me it was my fault ' because I should have known how to stop it", like someone else has done. This happened a few years ago and I have since moved on. I felt prompted to write about it because I keep seeing other men being ' abused' (that is the word, or worse, we would have used if the roles were reversed). I hope that any errors in judgement I made will help other guys to be wary.

OK, I could have handled this better. Re the difference between ' coaxing' and ' forcing' - I felt pressurised into going through with it. As men I think we are made to feel like we cannot refuse. Having said all this, let's imagine that it was the other way round - that I manipulated a woman into getting into bed with me, then had sex with her even after she told me she wanted to be left alone. Do you think people and the law would have looked at the situation in the same way?
/r/MensRights21/12/19 12:17 AM

Yes I can see that she had planned it. I mean that bottle of Champagne didn't just happen to be something women carry around in their bags.
/r/MensRights20/12/19 07:01 PM

Yeah, right. For her to be arrested I would have needed to make a report to the police. In my country the unit that deals with rape and sexual abuse is headed by female police officers. The courts of law are nowadays full of female magistrates and judges. Can you imagine how a lawyer can basically throw out my case, because you know, since I got an erection I was enjoying it = giving my consent. Edit - the last sentence is meant to be ironic.

I should think that these random strip searches by police officers whether on minors or adults should be challenged legally. If necessary legal actions should be taken at the highest institutions so for example in Europe, this can be escalated to the European Court of Human Rights. At the very least if a strip search is really deemed necessary it should not be a police officer conducting it but a medical professional in a safe, private and comfortable environment.

In the country where I live we never had conscription. Our army is ' professional' in the sense that only those who want a career in the army can apply to join. They earn a salary according to their grade. But in neighbouring countries there is conscription and taking Switzerland as an example all males are conscripted when they reach the age of majority while females may volunteer for any position.
/r/MensRights10/12/19 12:35 PM

I can't understand why AFAIK it is only in the USA that circumcision is routinely carried out for no reason at all. For Jews and Muslims it is part of their religious 'requirements' but in places like Europe circumcision is only carried out if it is medically necessary, which is not very often.
/r/MensRights01/12/19 10:33 PM

I'm not in the USA but what you wrote makes sense. Case law (or as you called it, ' a precedent'.) is often quoted by lawyers to strengthen their argument. Previous court decisions are used to strengthen an argument when the law is vague or can be interpreted in different ways.
