Some time ago a law was passed so that if not enough women were elected to parliament through direct votes by voters, extra women would be added. These are women who nobody voted for or who failed to make it through the democratic process of an election.

We are now in a situation where we have several 'representatives' in parliament who were imposed on us.

This mechanism is now being extended to local elections. Most of the population, including women, are very much against this as we want the people who represent us to be people whom we voted for.
