A while ago I stumbled across this article on why men say "not all men.

To sum it up, she makes three points.

  1. Pick me behavior By this, she means a mentality of, “I’m not one of them;" However, Evelyn says that this mentality is a total delusion, because everyone in a patriarchy has internalized misogyny and sexism that require unlearning.

  2. The need to control women's voice by apparently tone policing women.

  3. male superiority complex by this she means the "I'm not the bad guy, you can depend on me" mentality.

After reading this however, I just can't shake the feeling that this scholar with 2 relevant Harvard degree missed something. Something simple, something not limited to men.

That's right, with all the though she put into this, she forgot one very simple thing.

Maybe, just maybe, we as men don't like being generalized and accused of a crime we aren't guilty of
