Except that's a lie. There's no evidence to prove that it's true. That's the problem with this whole issue. Everything that is said regarding this stuff is conjecture and hearsay.

I'm not saying that sexual harrasment doesn't happen. It does and it's terrible but there's no evidence to suggest that there's an epidemic of it happening other then the words of people who have been incentivized to lie about it. I know this makes people uncomfortable and they don't want to hear it but we have to factor that into any equation we're going to make here.

This isn't a woman specific issue, this isn't a feminist specific issue. You can not trust any group of people to be objective about the truth when the nature of truth is guranteed to give them tremendous politcal and social power.

I don’t feel guilt for being male. None at all.

It’s not something I had any control over, and there’s nothing wrong with being male. And why should I accept blame for what other people that share the same gender as me have done when I have done nothing myself?

No, but then again I was not raised to. Largely raised by my mother, but she wasn't a feminist, at least as far as I can tell. Remember, I think, that when I entered school she told me it was okay to hit back, even at girls. Of course I never did (did fight back against a male bully once and got the shit kicked out of me by his posse), but she allowed it. I'm glad I had the mother I had, she worked hard to give me and my siblings a good upbrining. I mostly remember her as tired, and I should have been more appreciative when I was younger.

Even when I was a leftist I avoided feminist spaces. It's not that I don't think should have a group to rally around, but that doesn't concern me. Let them have their space, I'll have mine where I don't have to kowtow to their ideology.

Generally, no, I don't feel guilt about being male. I am pretty sure I get bouts of gender dysphoria though where I get fairly uncomfortable about being male, and definitely want to be female, but I'm willing to bet it's not the same feeling.

I'm self-diagnosing here but I'm like 99% sure I suffer from some mild form of OCD. Reading parts of your original post, I can see some of the same tendencies in myself that you clearly deal with. It's so easy for me to feel guilty/bad/shameful about stuff. It's not a fun feeling to deal with. Especially when it's compounded by intrusive thoughts.

Now, I'm absolutely no psychologist, so take this with a massive brick of salt - your post strikes me as someone suffering from scrupulosity. Now, I can't really help you with any of it all, but I think it would be fair to say that this is something that's distressing for you. I will also be 100% honest and say that I don't think this is something that "neurotypical" people (if there is such a thing) experience to the degree you do. You're attempting to make payments to women's groups to ease your guilty conscious for something you didn't do? Being a man doesn't make you responsible for anyone's behavior other than your own.

I can't offer much advice but something that has helped me with my own thoughts is remembering that I am who I say I am, and who I say I am becomes who I know I am. You are not a sexual abuser. You are not responsible for those who sexually abuse others. You cannot fix the world's problems, but you can be kind to women around you. And really, that's all they want. You recognize that there is a right and wrong when it comes to approaching women. Sexual harassers don't know, or don't care if what they do is wrong. You quite obviously care, or else you wouldn't feel guilty about it.

I hope things get better for you. If you're willing, and you have decent insurance coverage, I might suggest seeing if pharmaceutical treatment is an option they reccomend. Granted, your personal relationship to drugs is something that is, well, personal, and I wouldn't want anyone to jump in it lightly. But I was put on some light anxiolytics for a while, and man... the first day I realized I hadn't had an intrusive thought all day was really eye opening and has definitely helped me to manage myself when I'm off the medication.
