YES! MRA's fighting back in Kenya - UN/WHO is forcing men in circumcision. Due to resistance it is now shifting to non consensual circ of infants - In Philippines 70% of boys get PTSD (Circs are done IN PUBLIC age ~10 - see paper and 40% in one cohort were infected)

'Boys underperform in schools because we look after their wellbeing less' - we split boys and girls up in schools talks.... we tell the girls about self confidence, STEM, body image... we tell the boys not to be sexist misogynist rapists

Feminsit Kindergarten teacher finds Legos are good for cognitive development in young children and so BANS boys from playing with them in order to "close the gender gap" - also OECD study shows teachers mark girls higher for identical work

Teachers mark girls higher for IDENTICAL work to boys (OECD study). Furthermore, a boy will receive 1/3 higher grade in reading tests if the techer does not know he is a boy (OECD) From kday 1 of early yers education they also grade boys lower despite them objectively getting higher test scores

This is a great counter arguement everytime someone here posts men kill etc. I am suprsised I never thought about it! The number of women who save mens lives at risk to their own lives (e,g, firefghters, moutain rescue, milatry, every day hero) is almost negligble compared to men

"Prostate cancer now kills more people than breast cancer, UK figures reveal" - A common feminist lie is that men dont die of prostate cancer and die of other things, hence one of reasons its funded less... this is false... more men actually die of the disease than breast cancer

For every 1 woman in Wales, £3.44 is spent by the government on womens groups. For every 1 man, £0.04 is spent. Remind me again which gender lives shorter, has worse health, more likely to be a victim of crime, worse educational outcomes, homeless, incarcerated, suicide, victim of hate crime, etc?

I’m concerned about the fact that black men are conspicuously absent from the recent diversity push in federal governance, Warnock aside. Many women of color but very few men. I’d like to find out why this is.

Because it is based on the progressive stack.

This is a good reporter, he is an advocate for mens issues, check out his other articles and his social media. He just released this:

https://www.brookings.edu/blog/up-front/2021/01/12/the-unreported-gender-gap-in-high-school-graduation-rates/?preview_id=1342018

Black men face many issues, nicely highlighted in the OP article. Its important to stress that many of the issues are male issues and affect all men or is due to them being black men specifically more than just being black.

One positive about discussions of black men is at least they are not attacked by gender supremacists for WhY ArE YoU TaLKinG AbOUtZ MeNz and also black men dont get blamed for the issues, which most other discussions about mens issues get by people, comments, writers and articles themselves etc

One thing they often forget is that when it comes to the crisis of innocent people being gunned down by police it is black men specifically who have it worst when it comes to execution by police. Black women don't really play a large factor in that issue. Whilst they are slightly more likely to be shot than white women they are still drastically less likely to die by police than both white and black men. The police abuse problem is very much a male issue.

Seriously, some of my female relatives had a rude awaking when I told them they were less likely to be shot than by police than a white man. Or that while still worse than white woman, white men are treated more unfairly by the courts than black women.

Karen staugh pointed that out black men aren't just walking around America black they're also walking around America black and male.

When most people see a male body they immediately think of danger especially if he's big and muscular like me.

But black men get a crazy combination of both being a minority black and male. I am 6'6 and 230 lb and some of my friends get it but some of my other friends I've had to ease into it or just let them find out by association of being with me.

One time I had two of my wife friends go out with me to a gas station.we live in Tennessee and not everybody's crooked or racist but there is some parts of that culture still here

everybody around the gas station kept eyeballing us and I already knew what was up but my friends really were scared and were wondering why they were staring at us

I told them that I'm a big black dude and you guys are with me so they are looking at you too

That's also why I'm not a feminist anymore because a lot of women do have power over men and it wasn't too long ago that black men were jailed beaten and or killed over false allegations. And it was his word versus that white woman's and nine times out of ten her word triumphed over his, and that culture is still kind of here.

Yeah, the justice system is just nicer to women in general. Fairly recently the government here posted guidelines to courts regarding the treatment of men under 25 which stated to be extra soft. So some provisions have been made. In fact I hear they're looking into phasing out prison sentencing for a wide variety of crimes for men under 25. But still though the fact it got that bad in the first place begs some questions. Might I add that I was once falsely accused of sexual misconduct by police themselves without even so much as an accusation.

[–]GulchDale 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I've been saying it for a while that we need to rethink how we punish people who've committed crimes. Do something stupid when you're 18 and it can follow you around you're entire life. It can keep you from going to college, it can keep you from getting jobs, and it will prevent you from bettering yourself so you're forced back into the mindset that got you arrested in the first place. A lot of had to do with the idea that we needed to be "tough" on crime without realizing the long term societal costs to men and their families.

[–]AskingToFeminists 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The punitive model of Justice is an aberration. It's also completely anti-scientific. We now have a much better insight into how, and why, people behave the way they do. We are well aware that punishment works really badly, and has diminishing return. We understand that people are conditioned by their environment and life experience. We have examples of Scandinavian countries which have entirely switched to a rehabilitative model of justice, and who have record low recidivism.

There is really no excuse for the way we treat criminals.

But well, I guess the first step before that would be to have a strong social safety net and education system, to allow for social mobility, hope in the future, etc, so that people don't feel the need to resort to criminality in the first place.

The prison system is ran on a for-profit model so prison owners have an incentive for higher recidivism rates, and higher crime rates in general.

The prison industry even lobbies against things like marijuana legalization because it cuts into their business.

It's really crazy how corrupt, and just plain evil, some of these people are.
