In its article assessing the political significance of Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman's recent death from cancer, the World Socialist Web Site acknowledged #MeToo's conservative function:

Significantly, Marshall’s release coincided with the onset of the right-wing #MeToo campaign, which raised the anti-democratic banner of “believe all women.” The film remains valuable in its portrayal of the horrific consequences suffered by countless black men in a previous era when juries were expected to “believe women” at any cost. #MeToo perfectly exemplifies the fauxgressive problem currently underway in mainstream leftist culture when it comes to issues relating to women and sexuality, a phenomenon that I've discussed on this site for a while now, including in my first post in this sub. I feel vindicated that such a reputable left-wing publication concurs with my view here.
