Women from Spain are frequently violent and controlling, it’s the norm in spain so it’s what they are used to. Feminism is very prevalent, including in government, and laws/attitudes regarding domestic violence are very one sided.

Spain has something called “violencia de genero” laws, which creates domestic violence against women as a special category of law. The government provides free housing and monthly payments to women who claim to have experienced domestic violence, and nearly all claims of domestic violence are approved by the courts. This has driven up claims- over 25,000 women per year file these claims for domestic violence. A big reason Spain’s economy is hurting is due to hundreds of thousands of women (law has been in place since 2005) living for free of the government, and not working.

Domestic violence against men is widely ignored. These laws and attitudes have led to Spanish women having a great sense of entitlement to violence, it’s considered normal for Spanish women to essentially control the entire relationship, including with violence. The majority of women under 40 identify as feminist, so it’s a prevailing trend.

Spanish women in the US carry these beliefs over. It’s what they are used to, and what they expect to be normal.
