OK, is anyone else bothered by how they are stereotyping the COVID-19 situation as "women are more effective than men"?

These are legitimate problems that need to be addressed. I disagree that black women have things worse than black men though. I also don't think it's true that society pays more attention to black men than it does black women.

Groups like the ACLU have historically focused on minority women. There was an article or press release from the ACLU a few years ago where they basically admitted to this, and claimed they were planning on correcting this in the future.

Now this was before black lives matter but even in the context of BLM, black men are some 20 to 40 times more likely to be the victims of police violence compared to black women. So even if we do talk about violence against black men more than we do black women, it's not like there isn't a good reason for it.

White men are signficantly more likely per capita to be victims of police violence than black women.

BTW, what do you think of women's issues in general? Our interactions so far (at least to me) has been positive.

I can sympathize with women's issues if that's what you mean.

...I know the ACLU has done some dumb shit, but what the fuck? Did they actually ignored minority men? It's so bizzare when people assert that society does not care for women (well, it's poor WOC actually) but then proceed to demonstrate the exact opposite. Cyntoia Brown is an example of this (I know, but she's an exception).

Besides that, Trump is an example that gynocentrism doesn't necessarily exist. But Hillary Clinton is an example that patriarchy doesn't necessarily hamper women all the time.

Nah, for this he'd need to be able to vote stuff for men only that women don't have yet. And for it to be approved.

Like crimes only men can be the victims of, only perpetrated by women.

Like the misogyny crimes of the UK. But reversed.

I was more referring to how a gynocentric society wouldn't vote for a sexual harasser in power. Then again, there was that CP5 incident.

[–]nonsensepoem 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

By that reasoning, Obama was evidence that our society lacks racism against black people.

Btw r/equality and r/egalitarianism might like these articles. There was someone complaining that those subs were full of men's rights topics and I feel like this might be a good submission over there to even some of that out.
