Tragic, I think he did do something bad (unbeknownst to him) and I can’t blame the girl for feeling creeped out by his actions, but this guy growing up likely had his issues ignored by his family, his schools, his community and now he finds himself with all the responsibility of an adult with none of the training.

Yeah, I'm not saying it wasn't inappropriate af what he did. But to give him a jail sentence for it seems like an enormous overreaction and an abuse of justice. This kid's ideas of human interaction can only get even more warped as a result of this. We're not helping anyone by throwing him in jail instead of signing him up for a social skills course.

I can't help but be angry at this prosecutor.

Prosecutors gotta prosecute. The family of the girl are stupid obviously. Probably a vindictive feminist indoctrinated mother who hates men. No problem with seeing this lad do 10 years for touching her arm.

It's highly unlikely that he would get the maximum possible sentence for this.

[–]mtcapri 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He shouldn't get any sentence. He shouldn't even have been arrested. This woman is the definition of fragility. They both need therapy.

But that's not how our society sees cases like this, thanks to feminist narratives about rape and their expansion of sexual assault from actual assault to "any unwanted sexual contact."

[–]PrincessofPatriarchy 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can easily see why she assumed that he didn't have safe intentions. He was a stranger but he singled her out not once, but twice. For all she knew this was only going to keep happening and possibly escalate. I agree, given the explanation he provided he needs therapy, not jail. But I wouldn't blame anyone for being concerned about a stranger acting this way towards them.

I think that not sexually touching people who don't want you to touch them is a pretty sane definition of sexual assault, honestly. I don't see why someone should be sexually stimulated or manhandled against their will.

One would hope he doesn't get any sort of prison sentence and instead some help, which he obviously needs.

[–]PrincessofPatriarchy 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

yes therapy would be better

He hasn't been sentenced yet, we don't know if he will face jail time, I seriously doubt it.

There's no way in hell a young woman would get the same treatment in court if the roles were reversed. Decades of gender slander by feminists have resulted in men being treated inhumanely by courts. Fuck this and fuck them.

Sorry for the Daily Mail link, but for now this, The Sun and the Manchester Evening News are covering this.

This is what happens when you create a society where the only thing people are valued for are their careers (hence the lad spending all his time at his parents' home studying, and the girl freaking out about not being able to go to Oxford) and girls are fed propaganda that every man is a rapist in waiting. An immensely awkward encounter that could have been a learning experience in more rational circumstances is now turned into a sexual assault charge that will follow this young man around for the rest of his life, and the girl being psychological scarred and afraid to leave her home as a result of a mere touch on the arm and waist. Madness.

I love: " We can think of no motivation for you to touch the victim other than sexual. "

That is some gross logic. Can I sue for every time a girls touched me to show interest and made me uncomfortable? Can I assume that I had I not pulled away, they would have grabbed my crotch? No, because that's not the kind of system we live in.

Feminist propaganda hurts men and makes women weak. It treats innocent boys as if they were truly monstrous men, simply because both have a dick. Then women are taught that they need to fear and treat boys differently, and they need to depend on laws to protect them from anything. Then blame boys for being poorly-adjusted. But any behavior by a women is only the product of male imposition

Even sexual motivation is not the same as sexual assault. Anything, an invitation to a drink or dinner, can have a sexual motivation. That is legitimate as long as you don't force anybody to anything.

[–]steamedhamjob 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That’s like saying “what rational person wants to lead a normal life?” Like wtf??

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

the girl being psychologically scarred and afraid to leave her home as a result of a mere touch on the arm and waist. Madness.

It's like back in the Victorian times where women would end up dead because they would not accurately describe their symptoms to doctors. A pain in the lower regions would be described as a 'pain in my arm' and the doctor was supposed to 'infer' what the real issue was. Same prudish attitude and extreme aversion and fear of sexuality.

[–]PrincessofPatriarchy 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't see how it's prudish. The behavior described is undeniably weird, and it would confuse or freak out a lot of people. Now we know that the reason he just walked up and touched her without speaking was due to social anxiety, but without that context I think it's perfectly normal to not want a random stranger to just keep walking up and touching you without saying anything.

I also don't see how touching someone randomly equates to "sexuality". That's not sexuality.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He's obviously in need of help, not incarceration.

[–]Blauwpetjevalued LWMA contributor 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The left bitterly fails the chanceless and the marginalised when they don't fit in their oppression pyramids. Like lonely boys, unemployed or with bad jobs, sometimes with neurological or neurotical issues. They should be supported in stead of shamed and ridiculed by a movement that always claimed helping the ones getting the short end of the stick.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Too bad it's behaind a paywall, can't read it.

Edit: So from what I can tell he had a creepy smile and touched a girl on the arm without saying anything. It's creepy, yes, but I've no idea how they go from there to sexual assault, it's absurd.
