Yeah, I'm not saying it wasn't inappropriate af what he did. But to give him a jail sentence for it seems like an enormous overreaction and an abuse of justice. This kid's ideas of human interaction can only get even more warped as a result of this. We're not helping anyone by throwing him in jail instead of signing him up for a social skills course.

This is what happens when you create a society where the only thing people are valued for are their careers (hence the lad spending all his time at his parents' home studying, and the girl freaking out about not being able to go to Oxford) and girls are fed propaganda that every man is a rapist in waiting. An immensely awkward encounter that could have been a learning experience in more rational circumstances is now turned into a sexual assault charge that will follow this young man around for the rest of his life, and the girl being psychological scarred and afraid to leave her home as a result of a mere touch on the arm and waist. Madness.
