There was a recent thread not too long ago asking whether it was possible for women to ever empathise with men they don't find sexually attractive.
Many of the responses from women were along the lines of "I have every sympathy, but that doesn't mean I want to sleep with them". The trouble with this response of course is that it tacitly implies that the only real "empathy" men are in fact looking for from women is sex, which I don't think is true at all.
So, my question for men is, in what areas or examples of life would you really like women to have a degree of understanding and empathy well aside from that particular woman sleeping with you?
I'll give one example which I think is a decent area from which to kick off:
Very often women (female friends and suchlike) chastise men for sleeping with women they have no intention of dating. The often-recommended advice for men is for them to be up front about their intentions from the very start, and make it clear that all they want is casual, no-strings attached sex.
However, I do wish women would appreciate the fact (and I'm quite sure they deep down must surely know this) that being as blunt as that will pretty much scotch any chance of sleeping with any girl ever (for most men), barring what? 5-10% of the female population? Essentially adopting this advice would condemn men to a life of total celibacy unless they find themselves in a relationship. I've slept with 10 women since the start of 2020 and I'd say one of them was GF material who parred me off (sad times), one of them genuinely was just casual, and the other eight would definitely not have slept with me if I had told them straight up that all I wanted was sex.
If I had adopted the ridiculous advice of the likes of /datingover30 and suchlike, pretty much my only sexual and indeed romantic experience over the past couple of years as a 29/30-year old male in the prime would have been with a girl I was crazy about and the resultant heartbreak, punctuating 20 months or so of loneliness. Instead, I have been able to soften the blow with some fun, enjoyable sex with decent looking women who fell just short of being GF material.
Sorry ladies, but the fact of the matter is that there are plenty of women I wouldn't kick out of bed, but wouldn't consider girlfriend material. I am certainly not going to condemn myself to a sad, lonely and heartbroken romantic and sex life purely to avoid the potential minor disappointment I may cause some women here and there, and if you had sufficient empathy and understanding of what the life of an average man was like, I think you'd appreciate why this is reasonable.
