High school girls admitted to targeting and falsely accusing a boy of sexual assault because they 'just don't like him'. Boy was fired from his job, forced to serve time in a juvenile detention facility, is now home-schooled and suffers psychological trauma. School officials just didn’t care.

What happens when you rape an eleven year old child ? Well it depends what gender you are. 44 year old woman serves one year.

That's great. Rape is rape.

[–]knifebro69 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Never thought Id read a comment that says that and agree with it lol

[–]dukunt 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not fully convinced that that's a woman.

[–]ThrowawayGhostGuy1 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’m cynical enough to think they only said the R word because she looks like a man.

[–]Futurefrog38785 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Although it still says allegedly , when it should say just raped , but good enough......

[–]ThirdTurnip 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Alleged is appropriate to use until she's been convicted.

And not using it would probably constitute defamation.

When I was 15 I entered in to a sexual relationship with a married, 30 year old neighbor. While I wasn't a virgin, I wasn't exactly very experienced either. It lasted about a year, during which time she taught me a lot about not only what women like physically, but also what I liked. She was married to an idiot alcoholic who made obscene amounts of money, and I suspect in hindsight that she was somehow trying to escape that. Not once did I ever feel "raped" or victimized, or traumatized. It was a rather enjoyable year. Eventually I moved on to dating girls my own age and we gradually lost touch. That was nearly 40 years ago. I am now a stable, successful, medical professional. I am not emotionally stunted, nor have I ever been ashamed or embarrassed of the year I spent with her, although, in truth, I have kept that experience a secret for the most part.
TL:DR Using age as the only metric to determine what is ethical or moral is neither ethical or moral on a cosmic scale.

nor have I ever been ashamed or embarrassed of the year I spent with her, although, in truth, I have kept that experience a secret for the most part.

It's interesting that you aren't ashamed of it, YET you kept it a secret.

[–]Desertnurse760 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Not really. I was never dumb enough to not understand how society feels about such arrangements, and that however I tried to explain it, someone would be quick to judge me, her, or the situation in general, and seek to victimize me or villainize her. Neither of which is an accurate portrayal of me or her.

[–]HPUnicorn 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

I am very curious: Would you 'approve' (only word I can think of to describe what I am asking) of the same type of relationship if it were a 15 year old girl and a 30 year old married man.

[–]Desertnurse760 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

I'm certain that it happens all the time, but I am genuinely apathetic over things of which I have no control. Like I said, I wasn't damaged by the experience. But, society now trying to categorize my experience as "rape" is just plain dishonesty. Rape is something traumatic, non-consenting, and humiliating. The aftereffects of which can be lifelong. I don't approve of rape, and no one should.

[–]HPUnicorn 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

That didn't answer my question though.

[–]Desertnurse760 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Yes I did, I just didn't answer the question the way that you wanted.

[–]HPUnicorn 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then let me ask it a different way, one that you WOULD have an interest in

Would you approve of your 15 year old daughter having a sexual relationship with a 30 year old married man.

[–]HPUnicorn 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

No, you answered it like a politician, a wall of text that said basically nothing.

[–]Desertnurse760 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Look, these types of relationships happen. That's just a fact. Me approving or disapproving of them won't change a thing. Mary, Mother of Jesus, is thought to have been around 15 when she married Joseph, who is thought to have been around 30. For the vast majority of human history this was considered the norm. Somehow we as a species survived.

[–]HPUnicorn 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Why are you so desperate to avoid answering what should be a simple question and instead put up a defensive wall of text. Perhaps you aren't as fine with it as you think.

[–]TheProclaimed99 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Rape is when a person forced another to have sex or when an adult have sex with a child (as children can’t legally consent)

You were raped. No dishonesty involved (except from the rapist)

[–]Desertnurse760 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I will agree that I was raped if you will agree that rape can be sensual, exciting, educational, and emotionally satisfying.

[–]enigma2shts 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

You're quite reasonable . All in all it really depends on the context. Its not a black and white situation. Less than 17 automatically = rape just doesn't make any sense unless you're really downplaying what rape actually is.

Ironically it just trivializes actual rape.

[–]enigma2shts 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good on you . That's a proper assessment . Especially since you're fine with it. I don't know why people tend to blow things out of proportion

[–]ReasonableSignature7 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

She wasn't in a position of trust over you though, not like a teacher that this woman is. This woman is suspected of repeatedly abusing her position of trust too

[–]ThirdTurnip 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

While her position as a teacher is an additional layer in this crime cake, it would be still be wrong and criminal without it.

[–]ThirdTurnip 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People don't mature physically, mentally and socially until a certain point.

People on one side of that line can too easily take advantage of those on the other.

While that specific point of maturity might vary between individuals, it's not practical to try to measure it and the law sensibly draws a line in the sand.

I accept that you weren't traumatised by this. Not everyone is.

Still such relationships are illegal with good cause.

[–]TheProclaimed99 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So you don’t think she stayed with the “abuser” because he was rich and she still got to rape the child next door without consequences?

[–]Desertnurse760 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I never said that she was abused, only that she was married to an asshole. There is a difference.

[–]enigma2shts 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This i agree . All in all it really depends .

[–]varnavruz -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Remember the teacher that "raped" (they actually dated) 17 y.o. student? She got 22 years. Name Jennifer Fitz... something.
