I’ve been OLD just chatting with people. Not the best option considering the guild lines I know but I’m interested in putting wha to learned to use. Ofc as a freshie I feel like I need clarification on some men I’ve decided to cut communication

1.) man 1 was actually one that was hard for me as we actually got into a good conversation about relationships. Overall he was a very kind and friendly. Some things I was concerned about were that

he preferred pets to people as the don’t force casual conversation. I found it ironic for him to be on the app and being so chatty. He said I was just “easy to talk to and charming”. Cute I guess but I’m still enjoying the convo

he said he’s more of one to sit back and let the other lead in relationships. He reasoning seemed fair but I’m not looking for someone to sit back while I do all the work(we don’t want an encore of my previous relationship)

So after chatting a bit I decided to let him go. My gut was telling me in the long run I’d be stuck dragging him around. Not a bad person but not the personality I’d want in a man. Could’ve been friends but honestly I have enough atm no need to waste my energy.

2.) man 2 was nice but not as engaging as the other. He tends to ask superficial questions or at least I believed so; do you cook? I which is your real hair color now? They’re innocent yes but it just felt that there weren’t enough in-depth questions of me personally like interests or education.

On top of that he had some cheesy copy & paste lines that were cute at first but after a while it became a bit annoying, like ok I get it you think I’m pretty.

What’s really getting me to remove him was that we agreed to schedule a video chat for Sunday(today) last week. He initiated it so I was pleased but didn’t set a time, no biggie I guess. I just made sure to telling him which days I was not available to chat as I work, have homework, and a second job. Yet the next day he asks to have a video chat when I’ve already stated the above. I obviously say no and he said “it was worth a shot!”.

Now I feel very petty for finding this annoying, honestly I could’ve chatted but I didn’t want to budge. Like I’m tired and already told you I couldn’t. I mean do you ask the dr if you can come in before your scheduled appointment? No because he already has other priorities, there’s a reason for a schedule.

I just feel that if I did accept his spur of the moment chat he would eventually learn not to respect other boundaries that I place for myself.

Still debating on removing

3.) man 3 is pretty short I just removed him because his reasoning for not responding to a text was that he was playing COD

I don’t mind him playing honestly but with my history with gamers they will prioritize them over you. Which he just indirectly showed me.

It really didn’t make me upset as I was busy too. I just felt that in the long run I’d be ignored a lot. Not that they don’t deserve their down time but I’m just afraid of being in a relationship that will lead to me struggling with kids while he’s hyper focused to a screen

Not to mention he has kids which gives me the idea that he previous relationship could’ve ended that way, ofc I didn’t stick around to ask

On top of that he didn’t ask me about myself and went out of his way to message me on Facebook. That made me uncomfortable as I hadn’t shared my last name or given him permission to.

Idky all these men are so pushy with not using the dating apps if I wanted to use my phone or personal profile for dating I would.

..

So that’s been my experience so far with men on OLD. I’m just worried that I’m being hyper sensitive to everything because I’m trying to avoid another bad relationship. I mean I lasted 8 years with my ex plus years of being on/off before I dragged myself down. I don’t want to live through that again..

Could anyone telling me if what I’m seeing is too much or if my state of mind is alright?
