Consent to impregnation

Okay, so let's flip this around.

She says "I'm on the pill" (*or shot, patch, tubes tied, post menopausal, etc), and the man only consents to unprotected sex because he was told she was on the pill (or other form of birth control).

If she gets pregnant (under these false pretenses, with proof of said misrepresentation), and it is later determined that she lied, isn't that the same as "stealthing"?

His consent was conditional on the ground that she was on another form of birth control (other than a latex condom), and he did not consent to birth control free intercourse.

Can the man now sue under this new law? 🤔

(Can I join you guys as an ally? I think men deserve fair and equal rights too. This is a really important topic to discuss).

I also think a man should never have to reproduce (make a tiny human with big needs) without consent.

To pick on a financial lense (as men are often seen as primary earners; right or wrong), that can be a huge impact to a man's earning potential and wealth building for the planned family he may have in the future. Man or woman, children are very resource intensive/expensive.

I think the best end result for both any person is more firm control over when and how they reproduce. More wanted/desired/planned children who are well cared for and less "oopsie/I guess we're locked in now" situations that biological parents may not be ready/willing for. (And the idea of a woman coercing a man into reproduction is just as sinister as the opposite).

I hope my thoughts are helpful. I consider my partner (male) and his decisions around whether to reproduce. And I see all of the effort it's taken him to feel financially stable/successful. I understand how he grew up. It's a deeply personal decision. As his partner, I would never presume to pressure him into being a father. As his partner, I must respect his choices, even if my personal desires change in the future. We'd be able to talk through things, but must both be fully onboard with any decision to reproduce together.

Not everyone desires to be a parent (or be a parent right at this moment). It's ok to not want that, and to desire protections to avoid that situation.

I'm not sure how to solve, but thank you for discussing.

I'm actually kinda for this. While I agree it should be gender neutral, the basic premise that consent was for protected sex and some people out there think it's OK to go against those wishes and pull an okey-doke is the very definition of sexual assault. So is the one where your mate hides in the closet and switches with you...does that happen outside of hollywood?

The irony that a bunch of men who scream bloody-murder at women having default custody spend half of their time complaining about being legally obligated to take care of their own children.
