This is just a feminist meme, that without their patriarchial privilege men and boys have no identity. The problem for feminists is that rather than just sitting around weeping about their loss of mythical patriarchy, men and boys are responding the feminist misandry by opting out of the social structures and traditional male roles, and forging new social constructs in the online environment.

To me, it doesn't matter what my purpose is to others. They don't know me for shit and most of the people that complain are women.

Like they have a say in it. No dick - no opinion. ( This does not apply to sane ladies, however).

Honestly, I can't say, that real idea of what is a man never actually changed in the core.

Being a man means strength, responsibility, ambition, power, durability, loyalty, curiosity and being true to your word.

This traits are dictated by human species history and all have very serious reasons to exist, as a part of mechanism that let people survive.

Femz try to make it look, like humanity had solved all problems and lives in thecno-paradise, where those qualities are no longer needed. That is because, whoever is behind their cult, are just trying to grab more for themselfs.

I think, any adequate adult person, who have seen some share of shit in life, will agree with me, that aforementioned claim is utter bullshit. Especially obvious it became since 2008, and pandemic times are no exception.

But that's what we think, guys and gals of 25-30+.

Young guys are of course more vulnerable to said narrative, as a result you get either basement-coccuned escapists, suicides, school shooters or just young men unable to live a life and deal with problems.

And that's where I, as a not so old guy, can totally agree with you.

Also, I should accent the fact, that, breaking a guy's formation process may be even more destructive for him and several other people, than a girl having problems.

Because no matter how femz try to prove opposite, when shit breaks, even they will run to hide behind "toxic male" for shelter. And if you mess up young men's development, you are breaking the crisis-proof future backbone of his future family. Because both society and life are a bit more forgiving to women's flaws, than to man's.

Because a man is often the last and the first line of defence for his family. Both financially, and physically. Sometimes emotionally too.

For clarity, I don't think that wife is less important in family than husband. Ideally, they should complement each other in relationships. Pardon christian-ish metaphor, but if a guy is kind of a body of a family, girl is a soul of a family. Well,atleast it is what the family I was born to like. And how, I hope, mine own is now.

It's just, well, if you have a soul-relared problems, you may have a time to visit specialist. But if your body is paralyzed or unfunctional, that is very urgent problem, don't you think?

I can not decide myself, why femz do this. Either they do it intentionally, or out of ignorance. Or both. I could understand, theoretically, if instead of "outdated toxic model" they offered something new and adequate, but they just try to destroy existing and working mechanism with giving nothing to replace it.

Masculinity is not toxic, "Toxic Masculinity" is a hateful slur used against Men. This is irrefutable, as you'll note feminists never use the phrase "Toxic Femininity". This is because Feminists believe that Men and Boys are uniquely evil "oppressors", thus Women cannot be "Toxic" and Femininity (and by extension Women) is the "Good" in the "Good v. Evil" dynamic.

All toxic behaviors are present in both sexes, "Toxic Masculinity" is a hate fueled smear campaign.

I will also add:

Men are not human doings, they are human beings. Men have historically been denied this status expressly by society (especially Women) but it is not the case. You have value, you owe nothing to anyone, you are not a tool, you are a person, your happiness matters. If your happiness makes everyone else miserable because they don't think you're a "useful tool" then they are not good people.

- You do not owe them protection, your body belongs to you, not them.

- You do not owe them productivity, your time and labor belong to you, not them.

- You do not owe them money, it is not your job to "support" them.

Women have no rights or value when it comes to saying what men are, Men and only men matter when it comes to defining themselves. Women are completely irrelevant in this topic, do not let them manipulate or control you as that is ultimately what those women want.

Just look at the impact it is having on gen Z. More gen Z men have feminine traits and personalities. More gen Z men report being bi or gay. I have no idea if anti-masculinity movements have something to do with it but it is possible.

I think a bigger factor is that men experience intense rejection from women when they are young, especially in high-school and college years. The growth of online dating has allowed women to essentially be super efficient at screening through men and the top 10% of men are essentially players that sleep with most of the "free spirit" women so to speak. Meanwhile the rest of young men absolutely struggle to get any form of intimacy from a woman. The amount of young men that report being virgins is at record highs. The growth of subcultures like incels is likely to increase dramatically with gen Z especially. More and more men are simply "opting out" of traditional marriages.

Bit late but teenage dude here, personally I believe it has harmed me in ways as simple as being afraid of women to a large degree and having a large fear of false sexual assault or rape charges being put on me, I've seen how common it can be and how it will destroy a man's life even if proven completely innocent, I've been told I have anxiety by 2 doctors but not properly diagnosed and I have arm spasms (they said it is the anxiety) when I'm around women by myself.

Males are of course by definition masculine and feminists are of course trying to spread the idea that masculinity is toxic. They of course misrepresent what masculinity means. For example they claim masculinity forbids men from having emotions. That’s nonsense. Masculinity is the characteristic of being male and males have emotions. Masculinity therefore includes having emotions, it doesn’t forbid emotions.

When feminists spew such nonsense, call them on it. Similarly, fight the idea that maleness is anything to be ashamed of. Masculinity is why we have buildings and other infrastructure, why we have a military capable of defending us, etc.

I don't think there should be an idea of what it means to be a "man" honestly. Just what it means to be a good person. You shouldn't have higher or lower expectations because of the gender you were born with. I think everyone should be encouraged to succeed, to follow their passions, to be ambitious, and above all, to be a good person.

I think a man's default purpose is to find a woman to commit to and start a family with her,because that is what men are biologically programmed to do I.think the reason why men are starting to feel like they have no purpose is because women are independent now, and "don't need no man" so men feel like they are not needed as protector and providers anymore.You can look at this article to get an idea of what i'm talking.I think young men are starting to feel hopeless about having successful relationships with women.

Masculinity is neither healthy nor toxic. Masculinity just means characteristics, traits, or behaviors associated with masculine or males. What does it mean to be a man? Beyond chromosomes I'm not entirely sure who gets to define what it means to "be a man" other than the individual.

What is happening is feminists are deciding that what is generally accepted male behavior is now no longer acceptable in their opinion and so they're just using a slur to try to insult it. Saying a man is using his toxic masculinity is like calling a black person the n word. Yet they're too narrow-minded and bigoted to understand what they're actually saying or they simply just don't care. They talk about misogyny but deny the existence of misandry.

Remember that one Buzzfeed video about man spreading on a subway and they simply don't understand in a painful way that the reason why guys have to spread their legs a little bit is because they legitimately have a sexual organ hanging between their legs but then they conveniently ignore women who will intentionally put their 50,000 bags on the seats next to them taking up more space than a man just trying to not crush his biological body in a painful way.

Apparently biological functions of men are toxic like not crushing your sack or standing up and peeing. Also apparently not being a complete pushover and standing up for yourself to be treated fairly is also toxic masculinity. Also advocating for rights of your gender determined by your chromosomes so you don't get discriminated against for simply being who you are is also somehow toxic.

Maybe it's toxic masculinity that lets so many men understand what hypocrisy and bigotry actually look like?
