Today on Facebook OLD, I started talking with a nice-looking guy who was originally from Portugal (loved Portugal, I walked part of the Camino Portugues summer 2017), and who lived just an hour south of me. We chatted on and off today, but then I noticed he kept asking questions about me (information gathering) and I had to repeat questions to him. This happened a couple of times. I noted it, kept it in mind as a possible yellow flag, thought mayyyybe it could be the lack of face time and/or second language, or... he could be a scrote. That's always a possibility.
Finally, I asked him why he was divorced. My phone died earlier, and I was busy today, so I'm charging it, and as I was scrolling through Facebook, I looked at dating, for the first time in several hours. He unmatched me, because I asked him twice why he was divorced and he never answered. Clearly he's divorced not for any reason that makes him look good! No loss at all to me. Demisexual that I am, I honestly can't even remember what he looks like, and I LOVE that about my psychology. No connection, no long-term conversation... out of sight is out of mind, gone and forgotten.
So, FDS queens, yet another vetting strategy. Be careful when first talking to a guy, if he constantly circles the conversation around to you, and doesn't reveal information mutually and reciprocally, then something's already off. Be careful if he doesn't answer questions, hedges, or gives minimal info; he's hiding something, and it's not good, usually toxic. Be quite relieved when they unmatch you; the trash just took itself out and saved you time wasted, heartache, anger, frustration. Simply the act of asking questions, and not letting a question go is a vetting technique. It shows you have grit, determination, perseverance, and their answer or lack therof reveals quite a lot about them. It also tells them that you feel entitled to answers, to the free flow of communication. I reveal, you reveal, that's the natural flow of things.
Once again, I feel victorious. Minimal time wasted, the trash took itself out. I'm moving on, living life, riding high. Life is good.
