Is this the same man who demanded that you record sexual footage in order for him to “trust” you more? This relationship does not sound healthy or sustainable in the long-term.

If him following this girl is a deal breaker, then stand firm in your decision. He didn’t honour the agreement you set. It’s up to YOU how you respond to that.

I totally agree with the post from the mod comment.

TELLING someone to do something often has the opposite effect. How many of you had a mental plan to clean your room when you were a teenager, only for your mom or dad to nag you about how messy it is and tell you to clean it up? You would have done it anyways, but once they told you to, you don’t even want to anymore. If you DO tidy up, you do it with resentment and contempt. u/sugaronthefl00r, do you think resentment and contempt are good feelings you want your man to have for you?

Another reason why this doesn’t work is that you are trying to force his hand. It’s one thing to tell him that it makes you uncomfortable (but again the post that the mod linked to shows you a better strategy for handling this), but it’s another to EXPECT him to follow your every whim like a child does to their parents. Do you really want to be in a maternal position and TELL your man what to do like a mom tells her kid to clean his room?

Sounds like a you problem. YOU are responsible for your own peace of mind, not your partner. He’s just following an ex on instagram, not meeting up with her and cheating on you. If you continue to act controlling and demanding instead of fighting the forbidden fruit with honey though, you may as well be sending him straight into her arms.

Instead of TELLING him what to do, INSPIRE him to do better with honey. Like the post says, if he acts in poor form and flirts back AFTER you have filled your relationship with honey, then yeah, he kinda sucks. But so far, all he’s done is FOLLOW her on instagram. I follow Bill Nye the Science Guy, and all my exes on instagram too - doesn’t mean I want to or will ever f*ck them now that I’m with my man. Make his time with you worth his while and he probably won’t have any time to even think about his ex.

He is keeping an option open since he doesn't trust you. Instead of forcing him help him trust you again. It takes time. Help him feel secure and comfortable. You broke up with him after 6 years together instead of working on the problems. This is a consequence. Honey does a better job than vinegar. A lot of men wouldn't take you back after all of this. If I was in his shoes I'd have issues trusting you too.

I’m sorry that he doesn’t hold your feelings in high regard to the point where he will adjust his behavior after you told him the first time.

You told him how it makes you feel. He doesn’t care to shift which means it’s just too important too him to yield to your feelings on this.

You can definitely find someone who will protect your feelings. Not too much to ask for.
