As an older guy who's fucked himself with that "fucking bullshit I have to rest", understand that yes, there are times your body MUST recover.

I've fucked myself countless times by going too hard, adding too much weight, or, in a non-exercising example, rushed into a situation when I should have walked my way in.

The gym is NOT the only solution to life's problems. It's a good one, but as said here many times, when all you have is a hammer, things look like nails.

What you also need to do is quiet the mind. The gym is good for that, because you work your way to exhaustion, however...this is, as in your situation, always doable. I think you're probably early 20s, maybe 19; you're experiencing when life hand you a shit sandwich, and you're not used to slowing down and dealing with it. You want to forge ahead, but you can't.

Even if I was to tell you to meditate, relax, do yoga (whatever you can do); you'd internally fight. I suggest reading to learn and then apply some principles. I'll look for a few books to suggest.
