While I agree the sentence may appear quite lenient it is important detail that the 42 old man had a position of power over them (university) and apparently took her virginity while she was a minor. I would call that alleviating circumstance and that father of two, I would call a piece of shit.

Never heard of nonce but its not misplaced.

Also its pretty obvious why he lost his job.

Furthermore a restraining order probably has probational conditions and there is no reason to consider recidivism outside of this clearly unbalanced and exploitative relationship. Another imposable condition could be mental help.
