Two of my exes that dumped me in the past tried to add me on Facebook. I rejected both. They want validation.

Right now I'm in a solid career with a great girl. They see me as high value now and want my attention back to stroke their own egos. I won't let them. I'll be their "one that got away."

Had a liar and a cheater do the same thing to me on "Fakebook". We had been dating for a few months and had just gotten a little more "serious" just before things went sour. Because we were only together for a short time I cut her off; I called her out on her bullshit, deleted her from Facebook (but not blocked) and got rid of her number.

Fast forward about 4 months, and I get a poke on Facebook along with her liking a few of my pictures that aren't private. I just scoffed and ignored it. Then fast forward yet another year, and she likes a pic of me that a mutual friend tagged me in. All of this, and this idiot is still like 3-4 years away from hitting the wall. The only reason I regret cutting her off completely is that I suspect she'll be hitting that wall mighty hard; would be sweet karma to watch that.

I'll be the first to admit that, the way I am now, I can be a softie. When I try to make things work I'll try my damnedest. But when I cut someone out of my life the bridges are burnt the fuck down.

Often times exes do this because they REALLLY want to know that you are "living worse" now that they have left. They drive themselves nutty wondering if you have upgraded to a younger, hotter model, got in better shape, got promoted, etc. So they want to add you on FB to check out what you're been doing and who you've been inside of. She may or may not want to reconnect, it is often just for ego.

Now if she adds you and she sees mad hot girls on your profile, she will almost always want to meet. Especially if she is around 26 or above, and you are in a better financial situation than her.

I ended up in touch with one of my exes fairly recently, we'd been split for 4 years (in a relationship for almost 6).

When i received a message i anticipated it being filled with hate, it wasn't. I probably ought to have hated her back, since it was her vicious actions that destroyed my previous (Spectacularly good) LTR maliciously and with intent. I didnt.

We just talked and learned that while there is absolutely nothing sexual between us any more, and being 10,000 miles away from me means there never will be, we actually do still have the capacity to make each other laugh and to generally have a good conversation. And so we added each other and we chat randomly whenever (most recently this morning)

Sometimes when the dust has settled there really is no manipulation on the cards, no machiavellian reason for the actions, just 2 people bored of the fighting and older enough to have learned to let shit go.

Lots of my exs from long ago are on my fb list. Just someone I know, and they are wishing things had turned out better for them. Things are better for me, but not for them. I dont mind them reading my fb shit, there is nothing of importance on it anyway. Its a big page of check out my dogs, cars, and pics, mixed with your god doesn't exist, and science bitch type shit.

The one I divorced last year for cheating tried desperately to stay, was watching me on reddit, had made fb pages for my dogs and friended me before I punted her, so she used those to watch me. I shut off everything she knew about, made this login on here, and started over completely. Fuck that bitch.

Honestly...don't look too deep into it. There was this girl I knew from HS...divorcee now. Attractive Anglo girl, nice butt, nice Christian girl. We were always sniffing butts in high school and every time we'd see each other in public we'd flirt.

Long story short she would always like my silly status updates and one Friday night she posted a status on Fakebook along the lines of:

"At the gym on a Friday night...determined to get my firm booty back."

Her booty was always nice but guess she wanted it firmer. Anyway, when I saw that I replied "before and after pics so we know it's real." Then a few other dudes LOL'd and seconded it...saying the same thing. She deleted the status and unfriended me the next day.

Week goes by and buddy says "So did you see that (booty babe) is in a relationship?" I say "Wouldn't know...we aren't Fakebook friends anymore."

Some more time goes by after I hear this news and suddenly she follows me on Twitter...yet we still aren't Fakebook friends.

I don't understand it...but I guess that's the point. Maybe your ex wants you to tweet her or PM her. Maybe she just wants to follow you so she can rub her new relationship in your digital face. Maybe she just wants to subtweet you and ensure you see her subtweets by following her.

Shit...maybe she just sent mass follows when signing up. Is she new to Twitter? Twitter can autofollow people you've emailed and such in the past if you're not careful and decline the autofollow option when signing up/logging in.

Anyway, sometimes trying to understand people's motives and intentions isn't worth it. Unless you're looking for some nostalgia sex, I'd pretty much disregard the whole thing (as confusing as it is).

I think that women love social media because they heard it "empowers" them, it lets them feel important by feeling like their opinions are valued (join in any feminism circlejerk) and posting select snippets of life to artificially raise their SMV (which probably only works in the eyes of other women causing some sort of social media "my life is better" proliferation. It doesn't help that social media bends over backwards to attract women (for marketing purposes). It facilitates the most passive-aggressive communication by allowing for escalating contact and the ability to control the privacy of said contact. It's a giant ego stroking for any girl that posts some retarded duckface slutty photo and it gets "liked" a lot. It also allows women to get attention from a vast swathe of beta - omega orbiters without any sort of physical intimacy.

One of my exes, an ugly one I must admit, added me just to tell me she had a boyfriend. An ugly fucker, I can understand she wanted to tell me that she got over me.

Clearly, not entirely.

I asked her if she wanted to fuck one last time (maybe that's why she added me), she declined, I didn't give a shit and carried on.

Deleted she briefly after that, when her daughter supposedly used her account and started talking to me, that was weird, never liked that child.

So yeah, this happens.

If she has added you then she's interested in you, this is a perfect opportunity to turn your ex into a FWB.

I would contact her but do so in a very upfront way and be sexual from the start. She's worth some effort but not much.

Just because she isn't LTR material doesn't mean she can't be a decent plate, and if she's just a plate why would you care who else she's fucking?
