I am a homemaker in my early twenties, and i live with my husband on the west coast. My mother is polish while my dad indian. My dad's cousins's daughter is the cousin i am talking about. She is about 9 years older than me but her parents are the same age as mine about. My parents live on the east coast bc they like having their own space and find no need to come here. My cousin has always lived in the same state as hers even during the time she went no contact with them (her mother was pretty abusive). Now her mother has cancer, she is married and pregnant and also works. She lives in the same neighborhood as her in laws and family and does a lot of care for her sick mother as well as attending dinners with her in laws. Now my inlaws live 100 miles north and they too dont find the need to live near us. But this cousin of mine is constantly finding ways to put me down, such as wow what an easy life just cooking and cleaning and call urself a traditional housewife while i work and actaully help my parents while keeping up with my inlaws. She constantly tries to degrade and oneup me that she seems to be the more traditional yet career oriented woman. This might be anger and jealousy that her mother was a housewife and abused her father mentally. But it is getting too much. I feel she constantly overworks herself to prove herself more capable than her mother who has told her guys would probably leave her or implied that.
