No surprise here: every media outlet, every teacher in schools, every politician in office keep pushing the same narrative. What else should people think? "Women have always been the primary victims of war", right?

As a woman, this is complete BS and all media hype stuff. My life is remarkably easier than men's. I'm not some 10 either, just an avg, not fat girl. The amount of benefits and bonuses just handed to me in life, be it ones that are tangible like money or social ones like people (mainly men) doing extra for me, are incredible.

The whole "women have to work harder" is a 100% lie. All I have to do is the bare minimum (like anyone else) and just... show up. I automatically have an advantage over men, regardless of what the context is unless it's something like sports or other physical activities. As a woman, in societies eyes, I win EVERY tie breaker with men by virtue of being a woman, period.

An example of help from my own experience: A few years ago my brother was broken down in a parking lot, said he was trying to flag people down for help (he needed a jump). After an hour or so he had to call our dad to come help him since no one helps and peopel even told him he "should have AAA" for this stuff.

A few months ago I was in the same situation, but it was a flat tire not a batter situation. I was standing outside my car in the parking lot for no more than 30 seconds before some nice guy and his gf just.. did the whole thing for me. Jacked my car up - which scares the shit outta me- did the entire tire/wheel change for me, loaded up the flat tire into the trunk, escorted me to a nearby gas station to put a little air in the spare, he even did that for me. This couple, mainly the guy, did EVERYTHING for me. For nothing more than just existing. This is the stuff women take for granted and most expect it to the point it's not considered a perk.

The difference my brother and I got in terms of treatment from society was night and day, and you're out of your mind if you think men have it easier, this is just one, small example of something meaningless really. I get much more back than men in 90% of instances almost no matter what the situation is.

I am just soooo tired of people and mainly women pretending life is so hard as a woman, it's a dang cake walk on the one condition you are not a raging bitch. We have the best life of anyone on the freaking planet who isn't filthy rich, we have tons of laws and regulation on our side based off nothing more than being female. We get so much just handed to us for existing and many just complain. It's embarrassing as a woman to be grouped in with other women because more and more women are not growing up, they are getting in their own way constantly, and then all they do is complain and blame. When I take responsibility it shocks people, that should not be a surprise to people, but it is today.

it's impossible to accurately assess or quantify how "hard" a single person's life is — why even attempt to do so for two of the largest groups of people on earth? it's ridiculous

I'm not exactly shocked considering it's liberal reddit however this really just depends on if you live in a modern country or not... Females that live in say the u.s are privileged but females in a Muslim country not so much

Hm, as a woman myself you can’t really say who has it worse unless you’re able to experience life as the opposite. I think life is pretty difficult regardless of gender.

It's still not a reason to downvote, when the public opinion doesn't match your perception of reality. I do believe women have it harder, that doesn't mean they need more rights than men however. The reason I believe this is because generally life is only good for the top 10%, and women't traits tend to be less diverse than mens. My opinion just comes from a perspective where people in general have a hard life. In a more utopian but not yet perfect society, I'd argue men have it harder.
