If it's just sitting there and you know she's seen it, I usually withdraw it if I can too. I'm not a validation machine for random women.

I've never unsent a message to a woman and never really even thought about it that much. But, it's true, women could certainly use that message for the purpose of berating you or boasting, whether to their friends or common contacts. It's apparently common enough that women do this for it to be a problem. So, maybe guys should remove their messages, or recant their invitation to communicate, after a woman demonstrates that she's not amicable or indifferent.

If the roles were reversed and women had to make themselves vulnerable like this to approach men, and men turned around and used that vulnerability to boast or berate women, it certainly wouldn't be viewed favorably, and people wouldn't think twice about women unsending their messages.

Yeah apparently this is considered “creepy”. I would send a message and after a certain period of time I would unsend it either because it was time constrained or I just am didn’t care anymore.
